Really nice little pub, but the food didn't quite live up to the price tag. Out of 4 courses between two of us, only one was actually good the sea bream - which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately the others the butternut squash cannelloni and to desserts were pretty average.
Walked in and was able to be seated outside for mid afternoon dinner. Staff very friendly and polite. Ordered white bait and salted bread and olives for starter, excellent quality and plenty. For the main we ordered a sunday roast, not to be disappointed well cooked and again plenty on offer.
Wonderful lemon sole as fish of the day. Good selection of starters, mains and dessert. Nice staff, well worth a visit.
Good place to stop before catching the ferry to the Isle of Wight. Good local beer and really good staff. Fire pits on the terrace were constantly being fed with logs to provide warmth on a cold early May day. Had a sharing platter of very good cold meats, chutney etc. Well done to everyone at The Ferryman.
Stopped here as a last drink before ferry to isle of wight then first stop on return journey .lovely friendly staff dogs were allowed in garden boiling hottest day . Couldn't fault
