We had an excellent afternoon here in the garden. We were a large group of over 20 including children. The service was great, the staff very friendly and the food good. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
After a very long and beautiful walk from Keyhaven Amenity Car Park to Milford on Sea and from there to Hurst Castle on a cold Sunday afternoon it was great to finish the day with drinks and some amazing food in The Gun Inn. We were a party of 6 and all of us were extremely happy with the very well presented quality food. It was delicious. The pub itself is really nice and the staff super friendly, I can’t wait to visit again sometime very soon. Dog friendly.
Stopped here before walking the nature reserve, nice big classic Pubs with a garden. Nice large markee to sit under, nice a quiet and food is a little more on the premium price side but tasted lovely and was a generous portion.
Fantastic pub- go visit. Warm welcome from four different members of staff. Delicious food, great beer. Lovely garden and very dog friendly. We will definitely return
What a fabulous spot. Walked here from Lymington on very hot day. We were very grateful for immediate service of cold water. So thoughtful. Dog made to feel very welcome too. Menu not unlike any other good pub food but with some additional twists and unusual extras. Nearly very well Thought Out. Service was quick and friendly. Food was delicious. So glad we booked a table as lunchtime got very busy indeed. If I had one suggestion, perhaps a wider range of bitter on tap?
Fabulous bistro pub with superb friendly service had a few lunchtime drinks in beautiful garden with stunning wildflower backdrop…. checked out the dinner menu looks amazing so will be returning for the dining experience in a few days time. Booking essential for dining lunches or dinner.
My 4* review is below from last year. Unfortunately after today's visit I have had to reduce it to 1*. The barman with the ponytail was most unprofessional in dealing with the ghastly pint of pale ale that he served me, a clear case of occupational misplacement. Consequently we decided against dining here and went to the Crown who serve a wonderful pint of ale and a proper Sunday roast. Wonderful establishment and location. The ale was decent. A good menu, but read it carefully, you will have to add vegetables etc. to your main course. The dishes were cooked to perfection, quality ingredients and served by wonderful people.
Visited whilst on a Sunday afternoon walk but they had no tables available to eat. We were going to sit outside in the garden but it started raining and there was no shelter. We did find a couple of seats inside and the food looked good but we just had a beer, cider and some crisps. Unfortunately we could not book in advance as we didn't know what time we would get there but the menu looked good. It would be worth trying again. Busy but freindly staff. Great location on the coastal path.
The food here is incredible. Even the smoked broccoli tasted amazing. Highly recommend as one of the most delicious and unique pub menus I’ve ever had. The pub has also been recently renovated and is very smart. The wild flower meadow in the garden is also a. Ice touch. Thank you for an excellent afternoon.
Stopped in briefly for refreshments with my kids, while walking along the seafront from Pennington. Nice pub, clearly very old, and ful of character. Food looked nice, but we never tried it so can't really comment. Be nice to pop in and eat at some point.
