Stayed a night on b and b basis but had dinner. The guys who served us did their best but were under pressure. Meal was ok, Bathroom lovely and spacious and newly done but why put such very small supposedly double beds in good big room. Neither self and wife were able to sleep properly nor our 4 friends. Easily solved with decent sized beds or even 2 singles then the experience would have been far better and adequate for the reasonable price we paid. Noisy bathroom fans too.
We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed but overall decent experience.nnThe room itself was clean, spacious, and well-presented, with a good-sized TV. However, it was missing a fridge, which would have been a useful addition for a stay of this type. The biggest drawback for us was the bed it was extremely firm, to the point of being quite uncomfortable.nnOn the positive side, the hotel offers secure parking, which is a definite advantage. The older members of staff were particularly friendly and accommodating, and really helped create a welcoming atmosphere.nnThat said, the older section of the hotel unfortunately let things down. There was a noticeable smell, similar to a blocked drain, and the carpets appeared very worn and sticky underfoot, which impacted the overall impression. Additionally, while some staff were excellent, a few of the younger team members could benefit from further customer service training.nnWith a few relatively straightforward improvements such as adding a mattress topper, installing a small fridge in the rooms, and updating the carpets in the older areas this hotel could easily be a 5/5 experience.
Worried at first. All other restaurants were fully booked and no one appeared to be eating here. The server had to check before accepting my Scottish notes and asked if we wanted our starters and mains together??? However, the Hoummus starter was fantastic and I'm a carnivore and the fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce was really good and reasonably priced. All in all, very good. Can't say the same for the bar staff's taste in music lol
Had meals and drinks recently September 2025 with my husband and 2 friends.nFood was average at the best but what was most upsetting when 3 days later we got a Civil Enforcement fine of £100 for parking in there designated parking area.nHave contacted Feathers Hotel both by phone and email with proof of meals and drinks purchased but they are not able or prepared to help overturn this fine.nSurely the hotel has some control over their own car park.nWe are not the first to be caught out with this disgraceful practice .nWe will never go again and definitely not recommend.nPlease be wary of this practice.
Sept 2025n28 Golfers on a weekend trip to play 2 local courses.nI can't thank the staff enough for the help I received co-ordinating the weekend.nThe rooms are excellent the food is also outstanding and there's a great selection of drinks in the bar.nPersonally it's my 3rd visit to the feathers and I can guarantee we will all be back for a return trip.
