Burnby Hall Gardens & Museum in Pocklington is a truly lovely place and a great family day out. It is peaceful, beautiful, and enjoyable for both adults and children. You can sit by the lake, relax, and watch or feed the fish, which makes the visit even more special.nThere is free parking for visitors, entry is paid, and annual membership options are available for regular visitors. There are no dogs allowed, so the gardens feel calm and pleasant throughout.nI would definitely recommend visiting Burnby Hall Gardens & Museum.
What a beautiful place to spend the day. I really enjoyed feeding the fish, though not as much as they seemed to enjoy being fed! You can buy a bag of fish food for £1.50 at the gift shop at the entrance. I'm glad I got to see the tulips this year and will definitely be back to see the Water lilies, well worth the entrance fee.
Lovely spring afternoon spent here, our first ever visit.Beautiful gardens and lake to walk round, plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the views. Had tea and scones at the cafe, sat outside as it was warm and sunny, plenty of tables with shade if needed. Small gift shop to visit on your way out. Will change with the seasons so will be sure to visit again later in the year!
What a nice afternoon! We went on a whim, but were rewarded to find the tulips all looking spectacular! The fairly compact site offers pretty views and excellent planting in the many flower beds. There's also a nice cafe which does simple food really well mine was a fish finger sandwich and offers good value, though they already rinsed you going in entry to site is £9.50 which we thought a bit steep. Situated with the cafe is a small museum dedicated to the adventures and travels of the nobility who created the site, it features some interesting objects from around the world, not to mention a lot of taxidermy! The small gift shop was mediocre but we couldn't resist buying some of the good quality plants on offer. We'll be back soon I'm sure.
Fabulous gardens and lakes, with crazy carp/Roach if you feed them!nExcellent restaurant with huge choice, and amazing museum of the founders! A superb day out..highly recommended
