A relaxed friendly pub serving a range of food and drinks. Lots of beer on tap, and a terrific selection of whiskies. It also has a few drinks crafted in-house: There's a micro-brewery in the cellar and a micro-distillery in the attic. The food is pricey, but high quality, often locally-sourced, and very tasty. Newspapers and an excellent roast lunch are available on Sunday. Dogs are welcome.

Hiding down a back street you'd very unlikely go down if wandering around Exeter as a visitor but, oh man, definitely worth the detour. Young crowd when we went on a Friday night but welcoming of all ages. Quirky but terrific atmosphere. Two rooms downstairs rammed with tables and benches. Half the tables are bookable, the rest are walk in. Advise booking if you want to eat and eat you should as the food is really good. Cheese platter is top of the shop. Have their own gin distillery upstairs. What's not to like about the place.

This is a small rustic pub with a lot of energy. We have been here a few times with large groups, and usually do not have trouble finding a large table to sit at. The moonshine they serve is amazing and definitely worth trying. The kitchen closes around 8pm, which was a little disappointing as the menu was intriguing and we would've liked to eat something while drinking. This pub is great for large groups, and is very unique compared to other pubs. Definitely worth checking out.

The staff were excellent, I tried before I bought on the cider so they really cater for your taste. The food was amazing, especially the mussels. I devoured those. Would highly recommend booking a table to experience the full works.

Good back-street pub just out of Exeter city centre, they brew their own ales and beers as well as, more interestingly, distilling their own spirits. Can't speak for the food personally but the menu looked interesting, although if you're not into smoked meats you might find it a little short on variety! We visited on a Saturday afternoon, pub was reasonably busy but didn't feel crammed and the staff were doing an excellent job getting everyone served quickly
