Dumfries House Lodge was officially opened by HRH The Duke of Rothesay, Prince Charles on 4th April 2012.

Sitting on the edge of 2,000 acres of the Dumfries House estate and only a few hundred metres from Dumfries House itself, Dumfries House Lodge is an exclusive 4 star country Guest House offering luxury accommodation. Built in 1750 and in use a few years prior to the completion of Dumfries House, the 'Garden Cottage' as it was known in the 18th century, became the Factor's house and remained so for over 200 years.

We encourage our guests to think of their stay as a home-from-home and to make good use of our facilities during their stay. You will have free and open access to our sitting rooms, dining room and garden area throughout your stay.

A lovely stay, outstanding staff, service and the rooms and general decor are amazing. Food was superb and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds and gardens of the Lodge and the house are a joy to walk round Rooms: Decorated in the style of the big house Our room 8 was spacious, warm and welcoming and a nice big shower Walkability: Plenty of walks around the extensive grounds Food & drinks: Both the dinner and the breakfast were excellent
I couldn't recommend Dumfries House Lodge more highly. Our room was absolutely spotless, thanks to the housekeeping team. A great bunch of ladies and we enjoyed talking to them. They were kind enough to show us some of the other beautiful rooms. Our room was perfect. All of the staff are at the top of their game. So friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Colin and his team do hospitality the way it should be done. Our meals were fantastic. Such a relaxing and interesting place to stay. The gardens are gorgeous. And then there's Dumfries House and all the amazing things it has to offer a very short walk away. We will be back again and again. We are both sad we only spent two nights.
We stayed in the lodge for a night. What a fantastic experience!! Room was excellent and bigger than I expected from the website. Staff were great, nothing was too much trouble, and happy to chat with much enthusiasm about the house. I can't praise the experience enough!Rooms: 5/5
We attended our friend's wedding reception and stayed overnight in Room 22. All staff were so friendly and welcoming and from arrival at the Lodge to check out everything was perfect. The room was immaculate, very spacious and so full of character. All staff at breakfast were so attentive and the food was delicious. We will most definitely return sometime for a relaxing break! Many thanks to all staff for such a pleasant 5 experience.
We stayed in the self catering accommodation. It was stunning, with beautiful pictures plus comfortable, cosy furniture. The kitchen and bathroom were fitted to the highest standards. And it was very peaceful. I was particularly impressed how warm it was. Although it was May, it was snowing outside, and the central heating worked well. Plus we had an open fire. So often places can be cold but this wasn’t at all. It would be a lovely place to stay any time of the year.
10 stars!! Beautifully decorated rooms, friendly staff, and 2000 acres of spectacular gardens to wander through. Don't miss the house tour! Breakfast was included, there's a nice cafe on the grounds for lunch, but the restaurant is only open for dinner Thursday thru Sunday. There are places in town nearby, make sure you have reservations during tourist season.
Loved our stay at Dumfries House Lodge. Very comfortable in every way excellent breakfast very friendly welcoming and helpful staff. Beautiful location. You must try the Lost Distillery Losses whisky lovely smokey flavour. We shall return.
AMAZING! Spent a wonderful evening here staying at the lodge for a friend's wedding celebration. Friendly, attentive and unpretentious staff who made us feel so welcome! Rooms are luxurious, surroundings beautiful and breakfast hearty and satisfying. We stayed in room 21....lovely.
Great service, immaculately clean. Attention to detail in every area. Staff very helpful, yet also kept out of your way. Making use of the public living and bar areas was a lovely touch that made it very homely. Superb breakfast, and great restaurant recommendations provided. Can not wait to return.Rooms: 5/5
