Came here straight off the train from London for a tasty no-fuss lunch which did as we needed it to!nnWe had the ratatouille and the sea bream, both were very good, also good portion sizes and filling. The young waitress was super lovely and attentive, and also knowledgeable about the menu!nnThe only shame is that it’s currently got a view overlooking a building site/car park across the street rather than the harbour :
This is a casual restaurant, that everyone in Penzance should visit. The menu is extensive but with an emphasis on fish. I had the prawns as a starter, and they were firm and tasty. For the main I had the whole Brill it was amazing, well cooked and moist. My wife had the burger, it was huge, make sure you are hungry to take this. The staff were great. Local produce used and fresh.
After getting rather drowned on a walk we went to The Boatshed, and received a very friendly welcome and the offer of blankets to warm up. Emma was our main waitress, was very helpful with both the wine list and recommendations as to what to eat. We settled on mussels which we shared as a starter, we shared a main and thank heavens we were sharing between 3, because that is an impressive portion of beautifully fresh mussels.nWe all settled on the Simon steaks. Some of the best sirloin I’ve had for a long, long time; good enough to eat rare. Perfectly cooked chips, which I say very rarely, and an incredible pepper corn sauce, not too strong but packed with peppercorns and a decent jug of it, so no chance of you running out. In fact, I couldn’t criticize a thing! Emma kindly let us take some of our food home, because the portions are so generous and we’d maybe been greedy with the size of the starter that 2 of us couldn’t quite finish.nI can only thoroughly recommend, and would liked to have told Chef Nigel how impressed we were but didn’t get a chance to. I can assure you, you will not leave the Boatshed hungry or disappointed!!!!
Delicious fresh fish and seafood! A great pick if you love seafood! Lovely atmosphere and decor also!
Had a lovely evening at The Boatshed for our last day of our Holidays to Penzance. We had stopped nearby and spotted the place walking past during the week and checked out the menu and reviews made us book a table for the evening. Although the website mentioned that seating was catered for around 6 people they managed to squeeze 7 of us on a table without difficulty. We all enjoyed the food, meals arrived together with good timings for all courses. Friendly staff and nice, clean environment. Would recommend a visit if your in the area.
