The Dead Parrot
"Award winning cocktail bar with an ever changing menu. Seasonal, fresh, unique and not crammed with sugar, poor quality fruit and crushed ice.We don't sell Mojitos or Piña Coladas so don't ask. But our Espresso Martini is outstanding even if we do say so."

The best Cocktails in Sussex and beyond. Inventive and unique, but always tasty. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and a great atmosphere.
Quaint, dark, black comedy, 1930s, off the wall are all words I could describe The Dead Parrot... I've been coming to this place for years and every time it hasn't failed to disappoint - until last night 24/08/18. The good stuff - reasonable prices, great cocktails, beautiful ambience and mise-en-scène. Downstairs there is a bar and a few comfy seats and stools where patrons can hide out like a Terry Pratchett scene. The welcoming bar staff had a series of quirks and particulars that were always great to see. Upstairs is larger and frequently noiser but expected. A larger bar, mixed gender toilets, little Star Wars cantina esque booths and larger seated areas dot about. A large screen projects 1930s dance hall music videos which is often used for movie nights. There is security on busy nights to manage the flow of visitors and outside sofas for warm nights. Overall I love coming to the Parrot; the quirky madness of the decor always pulls me in. I would have given 5 stars but last night I had some issues. I'm not sure if there has been a major change of staff but I didn't recognise anyone. Downstairs is usually reserved for quiet 2/3 people groups but upstairs was closed and it quickly moved from quiet to a noisy crowded space where my friend and I couldn't hear each other... especially when the noise of cocktails being shaken vigorously added to the din. Saddened my friends experience of the famous DP had been tainted we quickly drank up and left. Bring back Crowds upstairs please!
Don't be put off by the smallness of the downstairs part size of a living room You'll be pleasantly surprise by upstairs. A great little cocktail bar with a large list of cocktails to suit everyones tastes. Good for groups or couples, the upstairs is even available for private hire! Perfect for special occasions. Great place, give it a go
Friendly staff and well made drinks make this a great bar! The pure variety of the drinks made for an interesting night with much discussion over the menus. Staff was helpful and provided advice and we spent several hours there!
Great cocktails and they make requests too. The chap wearing the bandana was very friendly. Also, I've never said this, ever, but the lady working the door Sophie? was very friendly. I've never had a nice thing to say about security as most of the time they're rude and on a power trip. The reason for 4 stars? The cocktails are quite expensive so I'd only visit on special occasions.
This place is an absolute must if you are visiting Horsham, and is always on my list for a night out. Table service, nice staff and extremely tasty cocktails. Don't know what to order the staff have always been good at picking a drink for me based on my answers to just a few questions. If you are looking for a alternative out, try Thursday nights when they host a Secret Cinema Club.
Amazing local gaff bar staff mad friendly; lovely people great atmosphere!
Amzing experience, the most unique evening out in Horsham! A one of a kind establishment where the perfect trifecta of incredible atmosphere, top notch passionate staff, and one a kind cocktails make for the best evening out possible. If only London knew what Horsham hsd hiding here, the Dead Parrot is absolutely unique, you must give it a go, you wont be sorry you did! I will be bringing all my friends here for an awesome night.
Awful place so far. The staff and management were trying so hard to create an ill-judged image that they forgot how to have fun. If our party hadn't have spotted this strange company policy, we'd have been offended. But after seeing they were acting weirdly with everyone, we were polite... as we left. Devoid of personality. Intent on being edgy. Would be embarrassing if it had opened in London etc. Will still struggle in Horsham. Here's a tip lads; Have fun with your customers. That way everyone wins.
I only ever grab a seat at the bar, so I cannot comment on the table service aspect of this fantastic venue. However the staff are always incredibly friendly and will always direct me towards the right drink for the occasion
