I’ve been here previously for drinks which has been ok but recently went for food and it is an absolute ripoff. Paid £4.80 for a cheese savoury sandwich and had the smallest amount of cheese savoury! Why be stingy with the filling when charging customers a fiver? Should have gone to Greggs.Food: 1/5
We ordered a cheese and chutney panini, and it took around 25 minutes to arrive. When it finally arrived it was absolutely disgusting and borderline inedible. We sent it back for a refund and the staff dealt with it well. Drinks were nice- but totally avoid the food.Food: 1/5
We went there after being at the victorian tunnel and whislt the food was lovely. The service was awful. We could not decide what we wanted and the guy was losing his rag over it. There were no drinks advertised so I panicked and asked for a fentimans as I saw a bottle on the wall. We sat on the only table that did not have a sign on saying closed at 2.30. We assumed all other tables were booked for a party. A staff member came over at 230 and took away our plates and told us we had till 2.45 due to a party.... luckily we were finished food but not drinks but we felt rushed so left and so did everyone else. The atmoshere and service was awful it felt like we were not supposed to be there and rushed. Dont get me wrong the food was soo good but the service was awful. Next time you have an event on maybe dont open for public or at least make that clear for customers.. We were also charged £30 for what we had which was a rip off.
I had just arrived in Newcastle via ferry from Amsterdam and stopped at the Cycle Hub to ask for directions to a storage facility for my bike and gear. Without a moment's hesitation Alan offered take care of my things while I walked into the nearby city center. He even let me use his WC to change into city clothes. What an amazing introduction to Newcastle and the UK!! Thanks Alan sp . Much appreciated!
Had lunch here yesterday. The food was average at best and the staff miserable. It’s such a shame as it has got fantastic views down the quayside. While the sandwiches were poor the cakes are great.Food: 3/5
Cafe is nice, but food is really simple and choice is very limited. Menu offers sandwiches and some cakes. Coffee is not from specialty roasters. I would not recommend to eat here, but it is nice to come and seat next to the river and maybe enjoy ice cream or so.Food: 3/5
Located along the Tyne quayside heading out of the city towards Ouseburn, I stopped for a well earned cuppa whilst participating in the Shaun on the Tyne sculpture trail in August 2023. The café is, as the name would suggest, geared up for the cyclists many of whom where meeting here to fuel up before, during, or after there ride outs. It was notable that many often stopped here and were known by name to staff. The staff were helpful and friendly as were the lovely patrons, of whom some advised they were regulars not of the cycling kind. They serve hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes, scones, hot and cold sandwiches. There's also a cycle workshop onsite for all cycling maintenance needs. Seating is available indoors and outdoors, there's a convenient kiosk on the roadside for takeaway, a cycle ride through. Plenty of cycle racks and a pay car park. Toilets are located inside that were well kept and clean. The views were definitely my cup of tea especially with the fishing fleet moored alongside. As luck would have it the worst of the days rain fell whilst having my Earl Grey, and I was able to don my waterproofs before venturing out again! If you're in the vicinity do pop in and see what you think. I would have no hesitation going back.
The staff are very friendly but the food is terrible and a complete rip off. They tried to help as much as possible but... we asked for a BLT and there was no bacon so we asked if we could have Tuna mayo sandwich without sweetcorn, they said yes, then the lady in charge of the kitchen said no sorry they can't, we said OK anyway so we're getting 3 Tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches at this point, on brown bread. At a cost of £4.50 each. When they came they consists of 2 slices of bog standard brown bread with a really sloppy pre-made Tuna and sweetcorn mix in a bag, not on a plate, The sandwich wasn't even cut in half and no salad or crisps or anything. The mayo was dripping out the bottom it was so runny. My wife sent it back before touching it they gave her a soft cream cheese bagel as a replacement. I ate mine and my son ate half of his. The bread was the biggest issue, for £4.50 you would expect better bread and presentation. Sorry can't reply to your message so will edit mine. In the picture is shown the Tuna and sweetcorn sandwich, this is on the menu hence ordering it. We asked what the bread options were and we were told white or brown, we assumed nice bread, we asked for brown and got this served in a bag, not cut, we were told the filling was a pre mixed bought one hence sweetcorn was already in it. Regarding not knowing what it is? I looked on-line at your menu and if you look you will see you have a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich on the menu, it comes in a nice tray, with lettuce and has a nice seeded bread bun in the picture. If I had actually seen a picture of that before I ordered there is no way I would have accepted any of the sandwiches you served us yesterday.
An absolutely outstanding service from the cycle hub team at our recent fundraising event. The team were just brilliant, warm,, welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue and we will be back. We didn't have food from the menu but everyone enjoyed the cakes. Thank you so much!
Casual coffee spot with pretty decent food choice savory food, bagels, cakes, warm food ect Probably a good value for money cappuccino around 3.5£ and loads of outdoor seating if the weather is favourable. Definitely would agree with previous comments very recommended for biking stop or quick snack : Really nice view on the quayside as well.
