Lovely cosy cafe in close proximity to Heaton Park. I went for the breakfast sliders which is a great option if you're not too hungry and you want a bit of sweet and savoury. It was all delicious The pancakes were the start though, I'd get a stack of them next time.
Love this place, go very regularly. Lovely little menu that changes, not just your standard fry ups and egg options. Not open Mondays. My favourite breakfast place in Newcastle, don't have to book and never not been able to eat. Far superior to anywhere else in Heaton. Lunch menu is also very good
Excellent nutricious comfort food. The walls show paintings created by the owner who is a fascinating guy with numerous tales of people he knows from the music business. Very relaxed friendly cafe with comfy seats.
Took a friend here and wanted to switch out the black pudding and mushrooms for something else. The answer was a sullen and unhelpful 'No, that's how it comes.' Now I'm not a picky customer, but for eight quid for a breakfast not including a drink I do expect to choose what I want or don't. I would have even been happy to pay a little more if the mushrooms and black pudding were less than an extra sausage or piece of bacon. But no it was the attitude of the guy behind the counter which left a bad taste in the mouth. The cafe up the road had a queue around the block which speaks volumes. One good thing is the lady who cleared the dishes from the table we sat at was lovely. We didn't stay to eat, we left and went to a greasy spoon on the edge of Jesmond Dene who were happy to swap out the mushrooms and black pudding without a second thought. And it was LOVELY! I won't make the mistake of visiting The Wild Trapeze again unless there is a change in attitude and a little more consideration for the actual customers.
Lovely little café with its own atmosphere, very nice for a breakfast or a brunch. Very good English breakfast, generous portion, good bread and tasty coffee, and the cakes are wonderful! Just tried the pear and ginger cake: it's to die for!
Good feed and decent price. Full breakfast was £8.50
Really nice place. Similar to a few of the other cafe/restaurants on Heaton Road they've got an artsy rustic vibe going on. Food looks and tastes great, but very breakfasty, and not as many lunch options as I would have liked. Will definitely go again though.
Nice place, cosy and friendly. Good food too!
Right, now this is an interesting place. High ceilinged interior, mix of chairs and comfy settees. Someone has an interesting, eclectic taste in music. Coffee is good but the food I had was really, really tasty. Many superlatives here, but again someone here can cook.
The place disconnects you from wifi after 30 minutes, which is ridiculous! We asked a member of staff if it was possible to get a longer connection, she said she would find out, but she never came back. So rude! The whole time we were there, we felt a certain hostile vibe towards us just because we were staying longer than a regular cup of coffee, even though the cafe was empty. Also, they had a dog who was always making loud sounds as if it was asking for something and they weren't giving it to it, which made me feel really anxious.
