One of the few remaining, truly independent pubs - a sad rarity in modern Britain. Admittedly it is small, and out of the way, but it's never too busy as to make it an unpleasant experience. It's cosy, and comfortable, and the staff (and owners!) are absolutely the most helpful and welcoming people. The food and drink is both terrific and insanely competitive in it's pricing. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

We booked a table for lunchtime 4th March and were very pleased with the carvery meal. Table service was first class over a very busy lunch period ,no delays . High quality produce cooked to our liking. Well done to all the staff.

We booked a table for seven people last minute on a Saturday night where every where else was fully booked so our expectations where not high how wrong was we!!!!! Lovely warm welcome great service and between us we ordered the lamb steak, chilli con carme, sirloin steak, and my order was a 10oz rib eye steak off of the specials board, every thing was top notch pub grub I can honestly say my steak was the best I have ever had and I have more than my fair share Thank you very much

Nice pub, bit pricey. Only stopped for a couple pints ( £9 ) whilst out walking. Staff were frindly
