We were a party of 9 ladies, out for an evening of good food and company. Our welcome was warm and friendly, and the menu they presented was varied and very tempting. Whilst I admit to being a bit of a “foodie”, I am always satisfied if the food I’m given is genuinely prepared and cooked on the premises, by someone with a passion for what they do. This place has all my desires…in spades. The food was absolutely fantastic. Full of flavour, imagination, and fresh local ingredients. My scallops with pasta and bisque sauce was delicious, and I admit to having “food envy” with much of what was served to our table. I was so impressed by the food that I wanted to “shake the hand” of the chef, and to my delight, he came out to see us. If you want superior food, in a lovely setting…..look no further. This is a wonderful place to eat.
Stopped here for lunch, our third visit. All dishes served were excellent - cooked just right, tasty and generous portions. Nicely presented too Would recommend the ciabatta and risotto dishes, which we had, but the menu offers a wide and varied, not to say very tempting, choice. Very fair charges, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, also so handy just off the A38 yet in secluded pleasant grounds.
Went to eat for Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint! Great value for money, mussel starters were super fresh and well seasoned. Mezze platter served 3! Roast was plentiful, loads of fresh veg not frozen and a great selection of dessert although didn't experience these due to being adequately full from the Roast Lovely location, can imagine it's fantastic in the Summer just for drinks and or food Got a fabulous table next to a roaring open fire on our visit which was perfect
Just off the A38,it's very handy for those travelling into or out of Cornwall. Can get very busy in the summer, so worth booking a table if you're eating, but always great. Food & drinks: Great bar with a roaring log fire. Good ales on tap. A straightforward food menu with well presented tasty pub food - the steak and ale pudding would feed a small nation! It is also very dog friendly with water and dog treats provided.
We were a table of 8 adults and 4 children, for lunch, the service was excellent, food was fresh , very well cooked and delicious, prices were also very good. Would highly recommendService: 5/5
We tend me meet here regularly and have never been disappointed until this weekend sadly, service was not particularly flexible, out of this out of that, don’t have this didn’t have that yet it was lunchtime service! Food was mediocre, nothing special like it used to be. We will be looking for another venue for our regular meet ups!Service: 1/5
Brilliant food and plenty of it. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are lovely. Great food and it's always a treat to see what's on the menu.Service: 5/5
Visited for a mid week evening meal, lovely homecooked food with the best nachos we've ever tried! Brilliant staff who were friendly, welcoming and very entertaining, also loved the gorgeous four legged resident highly recommend
Our first meal here in over 4 years, food was delicious as always and lots of it! Would recommend to anyone especially if celebrating a special occasion.
I'd give it 4 stars because I think the food was averag, the service was very good but a little overpriced. If your thinking of getting the Meze starter or the Nacho starter I'd advise sharing because the portions are huge the Meze was however expensive at £19.Service: 4/5
