Lovely meal for my bro-in-law's 50th. Plenty of choice on the standard menu and a great specials menu too. Very good service. Our table was booked for half 5 so we'd thought we might be rushed out in time for the second sitting, but not the case at all. 3 hour leisurely meal! The portion sizes are definitely not on the small side!

This is a pub I've known for most of my adult life - in its various guises it has played host to many of my alcoholic extravaganzas over the years.
It's latest manifestation, as an outstanding restaurant and highly acceptable seller of craft beers, is, I think, my favourite to date.
Food is locally produced and sourced, and is presented with care, flair and not a little genuine affection; it's just enough out of the ordinary to make it extraordinary, if you follow my meaning. It's always accompanied by a generous selection of varying local craft beers ( five or six at any one time) and the quality is consistently excellent.
I always prefer to eat in the admittedly small but very cosy bar lounge area as opposed to the restaurant proper - what is being served is more like pub food than restaurant food anyway ( albeit of the highest quality ). The staff are friendly and welcoming, and their table manager is as accommodating a man as ever donned a white shirt.
If you should choose to go at the weekend , or even on Thursday (local market day), I STRONGLY advise booking in advance; we've always been lucky ( that wonderful table manager) but your mileage may vary

Best pub in town! Nice atmosphere and great food.
The Gammon, "Taste of Pork", Haloumi Burger (for the vegetarians), and the Sticky Toffee Pudding are among the most popular options on my book! ;)

I visited here to sample the Sunday Roast. A great place that is clean and has a great ambience. The Roast Beef roast was delicious, and I will definitely be visiting again. Great service.

Very busy and we can see why. Excellent choice of real ales, pleasant, helpful, polite staff and a nice environment. We opted for the "Lancashire Tapas" part of the menu and were not disappointed. Loved the map on the menu that showed where the Lancashire food was from. Also nice to see Vegetarian & Vegan Options available.
