Went here today with a friend. Great location in the heart of Ormskirk town centre with friendly and professional staff and great food I had a pot of tea to drink and a waffle with syrup to eat which were both lovely. Highly recommended! :
Staff were lovely. The menu was limited, which was explained as soon as we sat down at the table. The whole place was very clean, tables socially distanced. The food was nice. I had a prawn Marie Rose sandwich on brown bread, which came with a fresh, crisp salad of lettuce, cucumber, peppers, and a little coleslaw. I also enjoyed the iced coffee that they made up for me in the absence of a milkshake machine. My son had recommended the place as he lives nearby. I'd never been before, but would definitely go again.
Enjoyed a very pleasant coffee break at this venue in Ormskirk in between shopping. Nice location with view of town square. Will probably revisit again in the near future.
Ate here today and the food and drinks were very nice, although the latte was a bit on the small side. HOWEVER - it was only about 6C outside and felt like about 10C inside, and I had to keep my coat and scarf on! Yes I should have walked straight out but I wasn't alone and we decided stay, unfortunately. When questioned about the lack of warmth the polite response was that it was a ‘listed building’ and that they didn’t want to do any work adding central heating! Listed or not, any eatery should be warm inside when it’s cold outside or you won’t get many customers except for stupid ones like me. I left cold and stayed that way most of the day. What a bizarre excuse not to heat a business!
After our Sunday Meander, from Maghull to Ormskirk, we decided to pay our first visit to "Love-to-Eat"; so glad we did! Nice environment, good food and excellent service. Cappuccino let them down as it had little flavour apart from milk.
A well positioned Café in Ormskirk which offers a friendly welcome to all. We opted for the well priced afternoon tea. An excellent choice of sandwiches and cakes is available. Scones are light and delicious. The cafe is also well run by the young and helpful staff.
I don't normally leave negative reviews but this was bad. We waited over 45mins for a salad and pancakes and were the only ones in there, so I don't understand why it took so long. The pancake portion was tiny and very overpriced. The salad was DRENCHED in dressing which made it soggy and inedible. The table was also dirty. Do not bother wasting your money here.
We had a lovely sunday morning veggie breakfast here. The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming. I'd recommend this place to everyone.
I ate here today with my parents. Each one of us ordered a different meal, but the food all arrived piping hot and at the same time. The ingredients tasted fresh and the two ladies who were serving us kept bringing fresh hot water and milk for the tea. Would definitely go again.
Ate here today. This cafe has been here for a while and has always had quite slow serving, I guess it’s expected. However me and my wife visited today. I’ve left feeling quite ripped off. She ordered a fish finger ciabatta and I ordered the full monty breakfast. After the table next to us complained they had been waiting half an hour for their food, theirs came. However, we were there before them and ordered before them. Nevermind. When the food came my wife’s fish finger ciabatta was on bread, without any sauce. My full monty breakfast consisted of one sausage, beans, bacon, which was greasy and an egg. We had a cup of tea and a flat white. The flat white wasn’t amazing, must be the beans they use and I also ordered a fresh orange which when it came was in a tiny glass. The experience of eating there just seems to be poor everytime we visit. You wait ages for food which is never amazing and it’s so over priced it’s unreal. £26 pound I have just paid! £26!!!!! It’s incredible that really for a fish finger Butty with about ten chips, a breakfast, a coffee and a cup of tea. It just seems awful for what you get. Whilst we were there two couples complained about their waiting times and one staff member was sitting in the corner on a laptop between serving customers. Didn’t want tomato or mushrooms on my breakfast, not offered a substitute however was still charged for the full breakfast. I don’t get it. Why not throw in another egg or sausage or take the mushroom/tomato off the bill. £26!!!! Still can’t get my head around it. Seems like the staff in their are tired of getting moaned at for food being late or not nice etc but the owner of the business really needs to get their act together or it won’t be there much longer. Get new coffee in, get another chef, make sure food is checked before it leaves the kitchen and stop over charging for food. Unfortunately we have visited this establishment many times but me and my wife today both agreed we wouldn’t be coming back here again. Cobble is just down the road, everything there is nicer and it’s priced much much better.
