Delicious!  Met a friend here for Sunday lunch as it was a halfway point between us and we’ll definitely be back. There’s ample parking, an out door seating area, restaurant and bar area.  We ate in the bar area as we had a dog with us, it was quiet cosy and welcoming. The roast beef Sunday lunch was lovely and the meat was cooked to our preference. At £14.50 and one of the cheaper meals on the menu it’s on the pricey side but worth the money. Sticky toffee pudding was a real treat.

First time visit today, and well if I could award six stars I would.  Fantasic home well pub cooked food to an excellent standard, over all three courses, attentive, knowdlgeable staff team, and a seamless standard of service between the four waitresses.  Worth a BIG mention is the vegan menu, which is way better than the usual random veggie/vegan single dish often offered...  Why did we visit?  Well to be frank the food at the Staverton Hotel up the road, is poor, we read the reviews about the Countryman and popped down, and our expectations where exceeded by a country mile, we would pop back, alas we do not live locally and thus all we can do is leave this review - hope this helps!!!

Great selection of vegan and glueten free dishes that are tasty as well. Quite expensive but you get what you pay for. Nice partitions from the rest of the restaurant for a more private experience, unfortunately the noise does carry if you happen to be neighbors to a lively and large table. Overall, surprisingly nice and would definitely recommend.

Sunday lunch here never disappoints - booking recommended as it's very popular and that's no surprise given the quality of the food here. Thank you Linda and team, you know it already but we'll be back.

It is the best food I can find in Daventry area, staffs are friendly and helpful, we can manage to dine in with our kids, the place have cutleries for kids which I found quite useful.

Fantastic Christmas Day dinner, great atmosphere and food that was absolutely perfect! So glad we booked, staff super attentive and welcoming. Love the Countryman and can’t wait to return again soon.

Ate here as a group of 5, no booking on a Wednesday evening. Can’t recommend it enough, walked in and instantly felt good about the place. The pub has a traditional feel with low ceilings, wonky floors and a log burner. The service was good and staff apologised for the delay in taking our dessert order as it had become quite busy during our stay. The food was delicious and there was nothing left on anyone’s plates, good sized portions also. I had the fillet steak with a red wine and mushroom sauce, the steak was cooked to my liking and the sauce was very good. Price was reasonable considering the quality of the meals. Would definitely try again and recommend to others.

We had a Sunday lunch here on 26/02/23. First time here after it was recommended. Exactly as described, lovely staff, warm and welcoming. Clean and tidy all round. The food was superb, good portions, good quality and reasonable pricing. Will definitely be going back.

We hadn't visited this pub for quite some time. But we certainly will be again,  the food was absolutely delicious,  service with a smile and decent prices. Thank you , we will be returning soon !

Frequented The Countryman for past 15 years. Since being under new ownership we hadn't been until today. Was not disappointed! The variety and quality of food remains FANTASTIC and fairly priced. The staff all very friendly and accommodating. Good atmosphere. Shame its not my local 'local' as I could easily see myself propping up the bar of a weekend
