Middlemore Farm
"A congenial pub atmosphere, wonderful period features, a gorgeous setting overlooking unspoilt countryside, and delicious food make Middlemore Farm in Daventry extra special. Housed in a wonderful old Grade II listed farmhouse, our real ale pub blends modern rustic décor with amazing period details. High ceilings and timber beams tower above tastefully furnished and decorated dining areas. Relax and enjoy the sun and the country air on our patio in summer. On cooler days, take shelter indoors and get cosy surrounded by beautiful original features like open fireplaces.Food for all is our mantra. We do roast chicken, or for those who love a good grill, we have a selection of steaks. Our menu also has excellent choices for vegetarians."

Last minute Friday night meal, quick walk up from home and even bumped in to an old friend. Food was good, service a little slow but as it was a Friday evening we didn’t mind and enjoyed a relaxed meal.
Went on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy but we managed to find a table. I like the decor, it's a nice place, nothing too fancy. We were a fairly large group, 4 adults, toddlers and a baby. The speed of service was actually pretty great considering how busy they were. Kids they have on the waiting staff are really friendly and professional. Loses a star due to the food. It's not awful at all, just totally underwhelming. The prices and decor suggest a higher quality of flavours that just didn't come. We spent a lot, and to be totally honest we felt kind of disappointed. The reason I rate this place so highly is down to the staff being so nice, the decor and layout of the building, and the proximity of the restaurant being so close to a playground across the road. The food is better than Whetherspoons, but not by very much, definitely some surplus value added because of the decor. We would visit again, but for a much lighter meal.
Although the pub was half empty and there were clearly tables empty, we were turned away and told fairly curtly that there was no availability. So we stood by the door and booked one of them many available tables online. After which we were allowed to take a seat. The team were all obviously tired with a less than full team. Unfortunately this was extremely obvious in their manner. There was one young lady however who, whilst sill obviously under the same pressure as all of the others, worked solidly all evening - not just for our table - but constantly on her feet servicing the kitchen, bar and other diners. On this occasion, we felt that tipping the whole team would have been unfair. We tried to tip the hard-working staff member personally, however she would not accept it. I would like to give her an excellent review. Her name is Devon. She is the reason we will be back. Many thanks for taking the time to read this. Louise Pick
Have had the Middlemore as a pub to visit for a while and finally got around to it today. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children, the pub was busy for a Thursday lunchtime but found a table with ease. We were swiftly greeted and had our drinks order taken allowing time for us to peruse both the lunchtime and main menu that was on offer. So much to choose from! We ordered starters, mains and desserts and couldn't fault a thing. The children's meals were of a great size often too small in other establishments. The buttermilk chicken tenders were incredible! Even though they were busy there was no real waiting time and all food was piping hot. The quality of food is of a high standard and to top it off the service was fantastic too. Please pass on our thanks and compliments to all who were in at lunchtime today. We will definitely be returning.
We were really happy to find somewhere, that from the outside doesn’t look obviously like a pub. When we stepped inside we were firstly impressed with how nice the decoration was and then we had some really enjoyable snacks and drinks in the dining area. We will definitely be returning at a later date to sample the evening menu. Well done!
Went for a Sunday roast dinner for the first time here, really lovely lunch, ample portion, huge Yorkshire pudding, Lovely dessert. Nice venue, car park on site. Prices really good, will be back!.
First time here for lunch with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The pub looks like a barn conversion with log fires and beams making it very cosy. There are plenty of tables and different areas to sit. Will definitely be visiting again very soon
Service good, food excellent, not rushed at all. No problem seeking a change to a dish, no chips for example but an extra egg. We sat at the round table near the bar area, very good position. Definitely revisit.
Our first visit in several years as previously we have been disappointed with the place & the food offering. Lunch today though, for 4 adults & 2 young boys was amazingly better than we anticipated! Alright our expectation may have been not too high, but nonetheless we all enjoyed the 3 course meals; in terms of service, presentation, quality & taste. The staff were helpful in providing crayons & drawings to colour in which kept the kids amused, which always benefits the accompanying adults! Clearly not haute cuisine, but perfectly acceptable decent pub food. With a good selection of alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks available. The pub had a "nice feel" to it. Only negative: I suggest the staff pay more attention to hoovering & cleaning under the tables & chairs in future! That does nothing whatsoever for your reputation, in my opinion.
Pub on new housing estate. Has that sort of feel, good for families, polite staff. Menu is what you would expect. In general no great surprises or delights. If you are local this is your local. If you aren't then you probably won't visit.
