Went for lunch at The Corner Cupboard after seeing it was well reviewed on Google, however soon started to regret our choice. The place smelt of bleach despite generally feeling like it needed a deep clean such as the tables being as sticky as a night club dance floor. The real ale choices are very basic and my wife's soft drink didn't come with any ice nor was any offered. Best of all, the waitress that served us had an attitude and seemingly struggled to understand English that resulted in an argument over what we'd ordered. In short, there are better places to eat and drink in the town.
Great pub with decent real ales. The restaurant served great home cooked pub classics including proper pie of the day with a top and a bottom. Great service, enjoyed banter and honest opinions about what to order.nDefinitely a place to revisit.

Amazing food. We went back the next night as it was so good. Service very nice and portions very good. Range on the food is great as we had a person with a dairy allergy. Super helpful. Couldn’t recommend enough. Picture attached it the steak and ale stew
Great wee pub with fantastic Tudor atmosphere. Service was so friendly and lovely. The dishes came with lovely crusty bread, the soup was creamy and the ale stew medieval and rich!
