I booked a lunch for 18 of my Winchcombe WI members and it was very good. Good service, lots of choices, a very happy lunch experience. I gave them 5 stars.. This was a year ago, we were back last week, the food was verging on being inedible, watery soup followed by sub standard mains. The service was slow and the waitress uninterested in serving us.. we will not return unless we hear that it has all improved

Warm welcome from the friendly staff. Excellent food, service and comfortable rooms. Perfect base for a few days walking and cycling.

If you are looking for an old world pub/restaurant/accomodation this could be for you. Menu is decent as was the lunch and beer. Evening service was fine but they seemed to lack staff at lunchtime with quite a few people waiting to be served at several times. Staff are friendly however so if you are not in a hurry this may suit you.

I went to the White Hart for a Meal on Thursday evening 15th March 2018 with some friends. I had mussels as a starter and they were luke warm at best, I ate them without complaining, I ordered Duck for the main course. It arrived and it was completely cold, not only the duck but the mash potato and veg were literally cold ! I complained and the young waitress took it back to the kitchen, within a few minutes the same meal was returned to me again completely cold, I told the waitress and again she took it back, I requested a new portion. She returned saying it would be 12 minutes ! Less than 12 minutes later she returned with another duck meal, this time it was hot but not very nice. No apology was given or any explanation and no money taken from our bill !" I will not eat at this restaurant again. I presume they prepare food before customers arrive then microwave when ordered, they obviously forgot to microwave mine !!

Great dinner, very nearly 5 Stars. We ordered the salmon and the duck breast off the specials menu and both were excellent. The salmon was fresh and well cooked with a parsnip mash and Pak Choi. The duck was delicious, but that meal wasn’t overly hot - which was about our only negative for the night. A bottle of Shiraz washed it down beautifully. The food was that good we stayed for dessert. A toffee pudding and a rhubarb crumble with custard - both outstanding! The pub itself is quaint, with a front bar area that you’d expect from a country pub. The dining area was more formal and one of the rooms had a nice fireplace to add to the ambience. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.
