My family stayed here for a few nights in the fall and we loved it. The food is quite good with full english breakfasts, lunches and dinners. They have a decent draft selection but the cocktails are a bit lacking, however the very kind staff will make just about anything if they've got the ingredients. The rooms were small but cozy and the parking can be a bit limited. The atmosphere of the main dining room/bar is very cozy, with fireplaces and couches to sit on. The locals are very friendly and Chestnut, the pub cat was a bonus. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Cornwall.

Terrible, we came in today to be left there with a baby and two young boys, we booked a table and crammed in. They didn’t serve us, one of the regulars gave us a menu, we then just sat there. Had to go to the bar to order the drinks then we waited again for someone to take order still nothing, 35 minutes later we decided to pay for the drinks we had to just leave. It’s unbelievable that they weren’t apologetic or anything and unaware of us even being there , just happy to let us leave unhappy. I wouldn’t ever go here again. £12 for fish and chips I’d say that’s far to expensive but we will never know what it was like to charge as much as that and never will.

Probably four and a half starts. The two minor points being the men's toilets could of smelt better and the restaurant was cool, my wife was cold. However the food was good pub grub, we both enjoyed our meals and the puddings were delicious. The reason I gave 5 stars not 4 is the staff, they were lovely, a delight.
