Great quality food, the fish is cooked fresh and the chips are a cut above, being cooked in beef dripping. However, the prices are miles too steep for what you actually get. £3+ for gravy and 330ml cans of coke? Come on now.
Best fish & chips in Notts, in my opinion. The mushy peas were the tastiest I've ever had along with an ice cold bottle of their locally brewed Scale Ale. Lovely. We were able to sit down straight away, staff were friendly and attentive and the food arrived super quick. Visited The Cod's Scallops on Mansfield rd some time ago and same great food and service there.
Our first visit not local to us and very pleased with our tasty lunch. Delicious mini fish, chips and mushy peas with a mug of tea, plus we had a side of battered sausage. We will not hesitate to call again when hungry and in the area.
After viewing this place on social media I decided to take the family.nThe fish was very thin, the batter was “okay” the chips were good, not great.nClose to £70 for fish & chips, 3 kids meals & a sausage with chips is ridiculous.nDisappointed & won’t be returning
Nice friendly staff.nnQuick and efficient to order a takeaway.nIt was quite so my wait was short.nnThe fish and chips were well packed and of good quality.nnPrices are a little more than a standard chip shop.
