I love Co-op shops. They always look clean and fresh and the staff are more friendly and attentive than th big supermarkets.
Generally a good medium-sized store with all you need in a compact area. Useful to have post office on site. Co-op own produce suits me well, esp Fair Trade range, inc great wines. Sometimes nobody on deli counter and can be a long queue at checkouts, although staff generally helpful. Over 60s 10% discount on Tuesdays ensures my continuing patronage. Keep it up!
2020: Thought I'd add that unsurprisingly the Co-op and most people shopping in it don't seem to care about social distancing. Just a heads up. 2018:Staff here have over the years given me numerous dirty looks, attempted to embarrass me and one made a mistake that cost me money. I have always been polite. Consistently horrible shop, overpriced, only redeeming feature is location.
Refused to serve me alcohol because they claimed I was using someone else’s ID, as they didn’t think the photo looked like me. It was my ID, but like most people I don’t look identical to how I did 5 years ago. I have never had this issue before and will probably never have it again. I appreciate they were doing their job but the public embarrassment and being accused of lying by 2 members of staff will ensure I won’t go back. Nobody likes a jobsworth.
Many of Co-op own brand products are great but this store at Stonehouse is suffering from a severe lack of investment, in fact it is quite tatty! For a prime High Street store with a loyal customer base this is very sad. Wake up Co-op management, repair or replace broken things, shake up the staff, get rid of clutter and address hygiene concerns.
Nice little village Co-op, good range of goods, a Lil more pricey than Co-op supermarkets.7 day, Late open post office counter inside, although the Post Office Staff could do with some Training, CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS WHILST YOU ARE THERE. Often miss special instructions like Signed For and Tracked requests, the couple of times my son has gone up both time's in the last month, pushed him up to the next price band. I have postal scales and a Royal Mail letter-parcel templates as they could never give me an accurate estimate! I know the size weight value of all I post but being disabled Rely heavily on my teenage Son and Wife to Post Signed For Item's for me. I even wrote on the envelope last time and they still upgraded the size to large letter without my son seeing them check it.. Beware of the Post Office! Side!
The store is clean and tidy with well stocked shelves and a wide range of products. The prices range for good dealsasda type and expensive m&s. Staff are helpful and friendly.
A nice midi sized local coop. The stock is fairly limited, but it's the only supermarket in the area. The next closest would probably be Stroud or Quedgeley. The prices are reasonable, but more expensive than some others as you'd expect for the convenient location.
All depends on the time and day you go in never seem to be more than one main till and the kiosk open most of the time. Some staff are friendly some aren't and a tip you must take from me always pack all of your shopping in this shop before you pay, if you pay with half you shopping left to pack they start on the next customer and their shopping is rolling down into yours!
The staff deserve 5 stars, they are friendly and as helpful as they can be when there is a severe staff shortage, which needs addressing urgently by management ... who were not present to complain to about the again understocked shelves
