I bought car from here over 2 years ago for my partner. Other than general maintenance, the car has been absolutely faultless. This was the first time I bought from a garage, and I was really pleased with the service I received, the pricing, and the car. The team made me feel comfortable. They weren't pushy, and they even offered to take me to/from the train station. A really great experience overall and I would 100% come back here for a car in future. Highly recommend.
Buying any second-hand car brings its doubts- wherever you buy it from. However, we were treated with respect and courtesy throughout and completed the deal- sadly, our 2nd hand car needed attention after a few weeks. It was attended to near straight away by a very friendly mechanic who dealt with other issues too!! THANK YOU
From my initial enquiry online to visiting the garage, Paul was very helpful and knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions I had. I part ex’d my old car and got a great trade in price. I Would recommend Paul and the garage. Top Quality service
Bizarre experience with this garage. Enquired about part x-ing my car and had a very friendly email and call from Paul who told me not to come in the next day Friday as they were not working set hours but to come Saturday morning. Was in the area Friday evening so called in just to have a peek at the car I fancied. A man who said he was the business owner said they had been open all day ? Anyway, went in Saturday morning, as arranged and was met by a stoney and silent Paul who offered no info about the car I was about to test drive. Left my car with him to look over. Returned from test drive to be met with more silence. Pointed out a couple of of faults with the car I'd just test driven which Paul said he knew about and would be fixed. After more silence, my husband asked what he thought of my car and the response was "it's fine, that + £300 and the other car is yours". My car is 2 years newer and has very low mileage which I pointed out and the response was "yeah but we've got to make it look low mileage". I asked what he meant and he said "well it has a scuff on the bumper". Genuinely, it's the smallest mark which I could t-cut out in 2 minutes...that is the only mark on it! I said that I was certainly not expecting to give them any money in this deal and Paul just said "OK, I'll grab your key and driving licence for you" and that was it! No attempt to bargain, no info offered to me about the car I test drove - nothing! It felt like he simply did not want to sell me a car. All very odd but will definitely avoid in the future. ADDITION: - Just to clarify, the comments from Hilltop regarding the condition of my car see their response below are, at best, grossly exaggerated , insulting and ultimately hilarious in their unprofessionalism....disappointing that they choose to resort to such derogatory comments online rather than voicing their supposed concerns in person to a potential customer, if not that day, possibly in the future. Strange way to do business!
AVOID AVOID AVOID... there are very dishonest .I inquired about a volvo xc90 on the 24th Feb. I was told by Paul that they where taking the volvo to have a new mot so I wouldn't be able to view it today I then phoned on the Monday 27th Feb. And again was told by Paul that the volvo was having some work done to get it threw the mot & he would phone me as soon as the volvo was back . I then received a message on 2nd March from Paul stating the volvo would take to much work to put threw the mot so he was sending the volvo to auction .fair enough. BUT THE VOLVO IS STILL ON THERE WEB SITE STILL STATING THAT IT WILL BE SOLD WITH 12 months mot .very dishonest and dodgy please don't waste your time and definitely don't give them any money .....
I bought my car here nearly 7 years ago its passed every m.o.t and not a days trouble with it recommended to my mum and 3 friends who have all purchased cars from here since and are more than happy with their vehicles too
AVOID We came to look at a discovery 2. It looked like was in lovely condition, very clean and tidy inside! But as my partner looked under the car to their suprise, he could she that there was a lot of rust/holes. Aswell as a transmission fluid leak and the chassis rotting. It is not worth the money that is priced at, at all. The salesman was very polite and apologetic, told us he was not aware of these problems LIES. Also told us he would be having words with the seller he brought it from. However, I’ve just seen it’s still for sale and at the same price, also they have added it to gumtree since we’ve been to view it! So they are waiting and preying for an innocent person, who wouldn’t know what to look out for, to walk in and buy it!
Wonderful honest people, great family run business, very helpful and informative, they really care about their customers and you feel so safe and welcomed by them all, they go above and beyond for everyone that walks in, highly recommend if you want to buy a car from them! Absolutely love my little polo, thank you hilltop, best dealership by far!
Bought a Subaru Impreza from these guys back in Feb, it looks even better in person than it did in the photos. A month later when the check engine light came on, they got it sorted for me with relatively little hassle. Would definitely recommend Hilltop Garage.
I purchased a really clean and low milage 2010 Golf from Hilltop. They weren't at all pushy with sales when initially looking and sorted out a full service including cambelt when I collected my car from them. They always have a wide range of cars for all budgets. 6 months later I am still very satisfied.
