Story

We aim to sell good healthy (Frying Oil) fish & chips at a reasonable & Affordable price.We have never entered any competion just to give others a chance.We have just celebrated our 25th anniversary of The Battered Cod on the 5th of August 2011.
Our student customers have had a great role in the fame of the brand so we aim to celebrate this with lots of special offers. See our page for more information.

The best chippy ever in Manchester! I go here every time I'm craving some good ol fish & chips. The chips are fresh and the batter tastes awesome. The staff there are so nice, like the manager Ali who is always happy to serve me, and Lisa who diligently prepare the food. Very popular among students too as it is located near the university. Really recommended!
Fantastic chip shop. Just finished Ramadan and everyone regularly wanted fish and chips from this place after a long fast. The chips are so much better than the fake fries from any branded franchise and more wholesome. The fish is great and as other people have echoed the batter is a taste of its own. Nothing goes to waste. Well worth a trip and worth trying. Often have long queues so allow more time. Mushy peas and curry are excellent. Only criticism is that the mushy peas are on the small side as a portion.
Favourite chippy. Why? My fish is always fried to perfection.

Ordered on Deliveroo, they advertise two sides on website, but then give you no option to select what side you want. Then when you try and call them they just don’t answer phone. 1st and last time will be ordering from them. Absolute joke.Food: 1/5
When people talk about how fish n chips are better up North, this is the kind of place they mean. Hot and tasty food, coupled together with warm and friendly service. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Lovely food, very friendly staff so worth the five star review. Fish and chips with curry was really nice too! One thing I was a bit disappointed with was the chips portion size. It was about £12 for the meal which I can live with due to the present climate however I’d still expect a good amount of chips.
