I came for food tonight. I was welcomed by the staff as soon as I walked in and taken to a table, my drink and food order was taken at the table, bill was also brought to the table to me. I haven’t tasted anything as good as this for a long time! Highly recommend The Chequers!
Lovely Sunday Lunch. Lovely Beer. Lovely sponge pud and custard.
First visit and definitely the last. waited 45 mins. for them to cook 3 meals when there was no one else apart from one couple in there.there was only one staff to serve the bar and wait on and he had been drafted in from somewhere else because of staff shortage, there was only one in the kitchen as well. the meals was what can only be described as shocking almost inedible. Fair play to the lad who asked was everything ok when told how bad it was he deducted the price of one of the mains.
Had a booking for 10 people today for Sunday roasts so they were expecting us. Bar staff friendly getting drinks but thats where it went downhill rapidly. Starters came after a long wait, mismatched portion sizes of prawn cocktails, had to ask for butter and lemon wedge. No butter with pate either. Mains took over an hour and came with raw, lukewarm veg. Some plates missing carrots, some broccoli, some Yorkshire pudding which were flat and greasy very watery greasy gravy and extremely small portions. Half my Lamb was fat and inedible as was all the raw veg. The raw, water logged cauliflower cheese turned up well after we had raised our concerns. The staff looked embarrassed at the state of the food leaving the kitchen and we left having only paid for the starters but everyone had to seek food elsewhere enroute home. Terrible food in an otherwise nice surrounding. Avoid until they sort it out is my advice!
Nice atmosphere. Food looked really good but was sadly overcooked. The chef was in on his own that day. Might have been a one off occurrence ‍
Very nice pub. Very very clean it has a large space around the pool table and the locals where very very friendly. I didn't eat but the food looked and smelt amazing!
Sorry we visited during a managerial change. This affected choice of ale & some menu items. Staff were fantastic & the welcome warm. May try again in a few months.
Went for a latte after weeks of waiting for the coffee machine to work got there to be told it still wasn’t working but it turns out the girl didn’t know how to use it when we eventually got it it was barely warm so not enjoyable which at £7.60 for two lattes is probably the dearest we have paid on our travels so won’t be returning,, Roger 10/3/2023
I just visited the pub this afternoon, the lady who served me as she is very friendly and lovely friendly smile and can sign “Thank you” to me. I definitely come back again when I am at camping at Hanworth Country Park. It was easy to walk to get there. Next time I might have foods there.
Seems like a nice local. Only had a quick drink there. Didn't eat, but the food smelt good
