Chips were luke warm, basic bun, tiny burger for the money. Selection of beer was decent. Service was very good. I wouldn't rush back for the food. But it's nice enough for a light lunch.

A lovely, old fashioned pub. It's tucked nicely out of the way, so doesn't get overly crowded by foot traffic. The only negative is the constant noise from the motorway when sat outside. Thankfully there's enough trees to full the sound, though.

We tend to pop in the The Check for occasional drinks, as it is dog friendly and has a lovely fireplace. The beer is pretty good and reasonably priced, and the pub has plenty of character. It has a decent beer garden, the only negative with that is proximity to the motorway,  which you can hear clearly, although you cannot see it.

Fabulous hosts. Delicious home cooked food. Pub is run by a delightful couple who ensure that even passing trade, such as ourselves, are well catered for.
