I really like coming here for lunch when in Inverness.   I like the peace to read my newspaper, although this is a family-friendly pub too.   The bar staff is friendly, welcoming and willing to bring drinks to the table.  Chat is also appreciated, with local information and advice worthwhile.  Only a wee walk uphill from the Castle, it is worth the effort for an enjoyable hour or so for lunch, away from the shoppers.

Great Beer and a delicious meal served by wonderful staff! Brilliant views and overall lovely feel to the place. Was a great way to enjoy the afternoon (in the beer garden), stayed until late evening.. :D Cheers!!

Was looking for a place in Inverness for a proper beer and if possible a decent meal. The staff were great, very accommodating, happy to supply beer tasters and substitute items with meals. Whole family was very happy and the onion rings were quite special. Good views too.

Very very friendly and accomadating. I had had a difficult journey and was tired and not sure what I wanted to eat. The menu didn't have many vegetarian options and the barman allowed me to order off menu and produced the nicest bowl of chips and cheese I have ever eaten. Bravo, sir. Delicious.
