This place used to be a tranquil location in the past now it's ruined by every dog Walker in town thinking they have exclusive rights to the place and to have dogs off lead jumping up on who they please,it's practically a dog toilet now.Tho Google shows a cycle way in green there is no point using it, there is no joy to be gained as your made to feel most unwelcome by most people and your bike will end up covered in dog muck.Update, recent rides have been most unpleasant, dog walkers purposely impede cyclists by simply not moving even when aware of you, others mumble in contempt of your presence, dog walkers need to except cyclist's right of way an seriously adjust there attitudes. One can't help but feel sorry for the children whose ignorant parents allow them to swim in the river when the local s##t farm is two clicks up stream"they wonder why they get bad stomachs".

The kids absolutely love it here and it's even better now there's toilet and baby changing facilities (20p charge but nice and clean) the cafe serves lovely hot chocolate which is perfect on a cold winter visit. 100% recommend visiting the play area, taking a walk along the river and up to the mill if you're feeling energetic!

Lovely place for dog walking and family alike. Narrow strip of land but trees give the impression you're in the courtside. Connects to Styal woods and more lovely walks.
