Completely flat walk on mostly dry paths from car park, round the lake, and back again. Other paths further from the pond tend to be muddy except in high summer. Some park benches dotted around the pond for those in need of a rest. Lots of dog walkers but they're mostly well trained so mostly poo free. Some small oaks just the right size for small boys to climb.

Contains far more wildlife than is first apparent. You just need a bit of knowledge from the ranger. Whilst a wonderful site, there are rather too many dog owners who ignore the sensitive nature of the site and allow their dogs off the lead. A minority also think the dog-poo fairy is real (please take you mess home or use one of the bins).

Beautiful peaceful surroundings in the heart of a busy place. Lots of wildlife. Great for a little walk about especially for people with poor mobility
