My wife goes here whenever she visits Levenshulme , and I can see why .The place as a great atmosphere , all the food I saw come out looked tasty and the platter we had pictured was delicious and at £13 was excellent value for money . There was also a good choice of local ales , which made me a happy bunny !
Excellent food at a reasonable price and a great selection of drinks. Lovely outdoor seating.
I visit the Buttery premises regularly. The food is good, there is a good selection of drinks available and the staff are always warm and welcoming. Disabled access leaves a little to be desired. There is a big step at the front. There is a portable, rather narrow, home-made ramp but the rail fell off one side a couple of months ago and is yet to be fixed leaving it quite dangerous to use for wider power chair users. There's no bell to ring to let staff know a wheelchair user is waiting so impromptu unplanned visits alone are a no-no as you have to wait until someone is passing to get the staff's attention. That can be a miserable wait if it is raining! The venue itself has a good sized disabled toilet and it is relatively easy to navigate around the eatery if it's not too busy. There is also outside seating but again no way to get attention to let someone know you are waiting to be served. The experience for disabled customers could be easily improved with a little thought and investment.
Hands down the best place in Levs to eat, drink and hang out. It's charming and quirky and has a great selection of food and drinks cocktails are brilliant. Really lovely atmosphere and the staff have always been great, really friendly and attentive. Just wish it was a bit bigger as can be hard to find a table when it's busy! But that's a testament to how good it is I suppose
Good food and drink . Love the veggie platters and the pies. Awesome cakes. Dog friendly too.
Last time I ate there I had cassoulet - absolutely delicious and so meaty! All I can say is that this place is a fab and well-overdue addition to Levenshulme with a great selection of home made pies, cakes, and a selection of small and large plates including delights such as rack of lamb with black pudding - "Rack and Black" - which went down a storm with my dad!, and meat/cheese/vegetarian tasting boards. The cocktails were great especially the negroni, and with a new, bespoke selection of wines and beers, this place should not be missed.
I would love to have given it more but at lunchtime, I was only given the brunch menu so missed out on the pies, service was slow they were not busy, my welsh rarebit was good but definitely on the cool side, my wife's scrambled eggs was apparently excellent and the all that can be said of the coffee was that it was hot and wet - no better than I have had at the vast majority of restaurants. A little more attention to detail required - mediocre and not enough to tempt me back.
They scalded the milk in my cappuccino. Not just slightly, quite a bit. They don't always, but they did today. I didn't complain. It's embarrassing. It's quite common practice in these parts. But you know, they take the best part of three pounds off you for a cup of coffee. I really wish they wouldn't scald the milk. Just my 2¢. Sorry.
Firstly the customer service is amazing! I think the prices are steep and the amount of mash potato they give you is so what shocking in a small way even after you pay the addition £1.50 for it. Gravy the same for an additional £1. I preferred POD.
Excellent choice of food, vegan through to committed carnivores. You can enjoy a delicious mocha, a pint, or a cocktail, and it's a buzzy friendly place.
