The place was clean albeit very dated. The hallway did smell musty on entering the property. My room 3 had an emergency light on all night and as such a tiny room, the emergency light was very bright. The breakfast was only cereal, fruit juice and yoghurt. There was no bread to do any toast. Disappointed as no toast. I found it quite odd that I never actually saw anyone in the time I was there. I heard footsteps as creaking stairs and expected to see someone at breakfast or even the hosts, but no one. Was a little spooky really. Was a place to stay. Would rather stay a Premier Inn or Travelodge.
This is a very basic hotel. Everything works, it's very clean and safe. But there are no frills and not much comfort. Reception is unmanned. Breakfast is minimal.Rooms: 3/5
I have stayed in more modern hotels but at the end of the day a hotel room is just a place where you can rest and sleep. My room was clean, tidy warm and comfortable. Breakfast was satisfactory too. I was pleased with my stay at the Madeira.
As a female traveling alone other half in ROH I was a bit worried on arrival, but I needn't have been, room quiet, clean and had no difficulty parking. Room had a recently updated ensuite. Corridors a bit tired in places but very happy with room and offers excellent value for money
Brilliant and cosy hotel I can't recommend enough. Always have a great relaxing stay. Staff are friendly and can't do enough. Quiet nights rest and brilliantly cosy and clean rooms.Rooms: 5/5
Lovely quiet hotel. Room was a nice size, clean and tidy. A variety of tea and coffee would of been nice but I'm just picky! Breakfast was ok. Again a bit more variety would of made it a good breakfast. Lady on reception tgis morning 28th Jan 18 was chatty very nice and polite. Over all our night was good. Would stay again and reccomed to others.
I needed a hotel close to the nearby Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, this hotel was ideal, it was very close by. The room was warm, clean, comfortable and had everything I needed and was good value for the price I paid. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I would have no problem recommending this hotel.
I stayed one night, found it odd we didn't see anyone until breakfast, but instructions how to get in were sent so ok. Everywhere was clean, my only criticism would be the creaky bathroom floor, got quite annoying after a while. Think it just needs a bit of TLC to bring it up to date. Wasn't expecting The Ritz for £55 a night.
Friendly staff. The night we stayed i could smell damp. The window was not able to open due to being broken. No fan. The dining room had a leak so we had breakfast in the training room
Perfectly functional for our needs at a great price. Room was a little hot with no real way to cool it down. But generally lovely.
