Fantastic Grassroots venue. We attended here to watch a gig. Ex-Generation X Great little room downstairs which provides an incredible space and sound for an intimate gig. The pub house ale was great , and there seemed to be a jazz club that was just finishing up in one of the other rooms. This is a place that is really keeping small venues and gigs alive. The gig list is extensive and varied. The staff were also brilliant.
I do like this place for the most part hence the 3 stars, but I had a bit of a naff experience recently.nnI arrived at the venue and go to the bar to get a drink. Two women behind the bar: blonde girl is serving, other red-haired woman is just stood there talking to someone who clearly isn't ordering a drink. Looks at me, makes eye contact, but makes no attempt to serve. Just felt a bit odd: if you're on a break or not working, why are you behind the bar?nnI love the vibe of the basement venue but I have to be honest, I have never sat on more uncomfortable seats. It was either barrels with no back support, or you had to sit on the sides against the wooden panels. There were very few actual chairs that were taken by the time I arrived. Not ideal for anyone with back problems.nnNot a bad venue, and I will return...just when the event is upstairs instead!
Great pub and venue, went to see crowgod in the brunswick basement venue , staff friendly and attentive, parking can be tricky, but found a spot in the next street along
Amazing venue and lovely staff!! My friend had her wedding here recently and Dana was so knowledgeable and organised, she made the reception really smooth. A big thank you to the whole team for making the day extra special!! :
Great selection of beers, check the chalkboards above the bar. Drinks are very reasonably priced! Staff are super friendly and the pub is home to a great escape room! The play list was also pretty great!
