Story

This stylish Hove pub, with the best pub garden in the area is located just off Church Road in Hove (near Palmeria Square) and operated by local pub company Golden Lion Group. Having undergone a stylish refurbishment in March 20 12, Hove Place Bistro Pub & Gardens provides a relaxed atmosphere and has a strong emphasis on great service.

With an expansive and mature Italian garden to the rear and a delightful terrace to the front of the pub, Hove Place has arguably the finest outdoor space you’ll find in Brighton & Hove. The picturesque gardens are ideal for “Al Fresco” eating, whiling away an afternoon with friends or simply reading a newspaper or good book!

An extensive product range centres on local ales, quality wines and speciality beers supplemented by a back bar of some 100 well known spirits . You’ll find the usual pub classics on the menu along with some wonderful bistro style dishes, all made from scratch with locally sourced quality produce.

We aim to provide a vibrant and quality pub experience, casual dining with an attention to detail that makes you want to come back and generally just a great place for you to enjoy yourself and socialise!

Thank you Hove Place for a wonderful Christmas lunch! Here goes a gushing review…nnToday my partner and I had booked in for Christmas Day lunch and it didn’t disappoint. We thought the £145 price per person was a bit steep especially as there was a £6 supplement on the steak, but we’ve eaten in there before so we were confident it wouldn’t disappoint, and it didn’t!nnFirstly, we were greeted warmly by all of the staff, I thought they might be a little jaded after the first lunch sitting, but they were all full of energy and festive cheer.nnWe enjoyed every single course; I loved my venison starter and the Christmas pudding dessert. We both agreed that the turkey was the best we’ve both ever eaten. Neither of us are huge turkey fans and I only eat it once a year at Christmas and generally regret it. We were served one thick slice of turkey each, in a stack with stuffing and a Yorkshire pudding, so we both anticipated to experience a mouthful of dry meat. How wrong we were; it was succulent and moist yes I said that word.nnThe food came out a good pace and the service from the lovely Courtney, our waitress, was great. The ambience of the pub is perfect for Christmas so we’re definitely going back again.
Love it here. The staff are so warm, welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent! I’ve been here 4 times over 6 months and it’s been outstanding every time. Everything is cooked fresh, with quality ingredients and perfect seasoning. Nothing needs to be added or taken away, I highly recommend! The atmosphere, music and overall vibe are great too
Walked in hoping they had space for us for a Sunday Roast and were not disappointed!! I actually think pub roasts are quite difficult to get right and often end up a bit disappointed but this was incredible! Both the vegetarian and meat ones were huge portions with a great variety of veg, immense yorkies, and the lamb was to die for !! Will definitely be back - and the service was immaculate too !!
Nice large garden area to enjoy a Sunday roast - the pork is really good and suggest ordering a side of cheesy chips to accompany. It's rare to get a roast with enough gravy, so was pleasantly surprised.
