It's ok. For £5.40 a pint, I'd at least expect the beer to come in its own branded/non branded glass. Instead a beer in a cider glass that needed renovating/good clean detracted from what was ultimately a good beer. Staff were fine, but seemed to use as few words as possible during transactions.

Always love this place, like a little slice of Paris in the heart of Hove. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere with live music several times a week. If you like your food then you must try their cheese board which is the best in town.

Beautiful bar with laid back vibe, drinks are OK, a little expensive but still worth for the spot.

Great music, food and drink. It's often standing room only but that only adds to the brilliant atmosphere

The one star is for the boef bourgignon which was actually good. Everything else was awful. What should have been a pleasant hour catching up with friends was time endured in a noisy, overcrowded little pub. If you want your music loud to the point where you cannot hear the person opposite you (or perhaps dont want to), then this is the place to come. Otherwise go somewhere else. The jazz blast was just that - a deafening blast. I suspect the band had real musical ability but the sheer volume in a small space was overwhelming. And the pre-recorded pub music that followed was only a couple of decibels lower. They really should issue health and safety ear plugs for places like these.
