This is a nice place. Very clean and modern.nnWe booked a table for 8 of us which was ready when we arrived. Most of us ordered to Sunday roast which came as 2 or 3 courses I feel that they'd sell more if they did a 1 course option on the menu.nnThe food was okay roast potatoes not good, the rest was good to be fair.nnService was generally good but the bill was wrong, again, to be fair, they did rectify this.
Lovely food, and great atmosphere...a bit of a non descript pub atmosphere, but that may appeal to some.
Bitterly disappointed by our visit to the Brownlee Arms and wont be returning ever. Went on a Sunday for a Birthday and the food was very poor indeed. The pate for the starter was sad, stale and miserable and dark grey in colour. It looked and smelled like it was weeks old. Only a tiny bit of pinkness from its prime era could be found when cutting deep into it. Needless to say, myself and my partner didnt eat any of it and when speaking with the manager, we were over the moon to hear that this uneaten food would be removed from the bill no other discount given. Onto the main, the Sunday lunch was a slight improvement, not overly warm, dry turkey, tough beef, frozen veg, no taste and all just a bit plain really. What started out to be a nice family meal was a big disappointment and we wish we had gone elsewhere. This used to be a decent place but has gone downhill massively, smells of stale dog and cant compete with other places in a competitive market. It spoke volumes when a staff member was seen walking in today with a new microwave as i think thats their main way of cooking the food there
Stunning fish and chips at the Brownlee Arms! We've been a loyal patron for many years and the standard remains high. Great to visit and enjoy the same excellent food and customer service! A wonderful family friendly local establishment
Went for my partners 60th, group of 10. The food was great, especially the warm scotch egg for starters. The staff were lovely, prices are reasonable. Lovely place to go for my partners special birthday.
