The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the world's greatest libraries. We hold over 13 million books, 920,000 journal and newspaper titles, 57 million patents and 3 million sound recordings. Open to everyone, the Library offers events, temporary exhibitions and a Treasures Gallery that displays over 200 items, including Magna Carta, a Gutenberg Bible and lyrics by The Beatles.

The British Library is a great place to visit and well worth adding to your London itinerary. The building is huge, spread across several floors, and there's plenty to explore whether you're interested in history, literature, or simply want to experience one of the world's greatest libraries.nnThe general admission is free, making it an excellent attraction for both visitors and locals. The exhibitions and displays offer a real sense of history, and it's impressive to see so many important literary and historical treasures all in one place.nnIt's also a fantastic place to study or work, with free Wi-Fi and plenty of quiet spaces for reading and research. There's a café on site as well, making it easy to take a break without leaving the building.nnOverall, it's an interesting and inspiring place to spend a few hours. Whether you're a book lover, a history enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful place to visit, the British Library is definitely worth a trip.
The British Library is worth visiting even if you’re not a book lover. The building is spacious, quiet, and well organized. Watching people study and conduct research gives the library a unique atmosphere. Admission is free, and you can explore several exhibition areas.nnOne of the highlights is the King’s Library Tower, the impressive glass tower filled with historic books located in the center of the building. It immediately catches your attention and is one of the library’s most iconic features.nnA small tip for visitors: the reading rooms are not open to general tourists. Access is reserved for registered readers with a library Reader Pass. Even so, the exhibitions, public spaces, and café make the visit well worth it. The library is also just a short walk from King’s Cross Station, making it very easy to reach.
It was amazing to see the wonderful ancient documents, the ancient cultural documents of all peoples, and the biggest surprise was that I also came across the manuscript of one of my favorites, Sir Paul McCartney, and the original manuscript of Jane Austen. The ancient religious documents of the peoples are amazing, not only Indian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, but we found documents from almost all over the world. It was amazing. We will be back again.
The British Library is always a pleasure to visit with the exhibitions and also the Sacred Texts on display. I went to get my readers pass, waited in the queue for about 30 minutes, but all was quite efficient. Really happy to get my pass.nnNext will be getting stuck into some of the past manuscripts related to Archery, for my upcoming book I'm researching for and also to build my research on Mughal Archery, which is still an under researched topic.nnHighly recommend a visit, whether for research, to do some queit work or just to take the children to create the love of books..
I love this place. Not only are there many kids and students doing their reading, but there are also two cafés and a restaurant. In the old days, I don’t think we were allowed to eat in order to keep the library clean.nnIf I stayed here, I would probably spend the whole day eating rather than reading!
