I like this old-looking library. It's located on the 4th floor of a very architecturally interesting building. There's a lot of wood going on between desks, tables and bookshelves. There are always free seats and desks with charging sockets, though some of the chairs are wobbly and in need of repair. There is a good selection of academic texts and other books. The borrowing process is well digitalised. There's also a small exhibition in one of its corners. The staff have always been nice and helpful there. The toilets are well kept. If you like to explore, you'll find that the library extends beyond the 4th floor above and below, and if I am not mistaken, there is a huge room with couches where you can study! It's a great place to focus, reasonably well-lit. There is a cafe on the basement floor for refreshments and breaks. I recommend visiting/using this library. The star off is because of the need for repairs.nPEACE AND QUIET RATING: 4.5/5
Good study spot, often difficult to find a seat but 100% worth it if/when you do for complete silence, no interruptions, big desks, plug sockets, good wifi. Everyone is insanely locked in here. Love the additional “food and drink” rooms. Sign up for physical library card only takes 5 min as well.
I really can't say how much I love this place as it significantly helps boost my productivity. But the ladies room really need some repairs as most of the bins do not work at all and it's awful when it's stuffed with used toilet papers forced into it and fell all over the floor!!! Also the wood chairs make my back hurt when sitting for a long time. Other than that, versatile study space of quiet calm vibes, restaurants and parks are just around the corner if you want a break during your long revision day.
Senate House Library at UOL London is one of the campus libraries open to the public. Open Monday–Friday 9:00–23:00, Saturday 9:45–17:15. It holds millions of books, journals, and rare archives for research or casual reading. The quiet and calm vibe is perfect for focused study or simply enjoying classic literature.nnThe library is disabled-friendly, allowing wheelchair users easy access. Unfortunately, the front and back paths are paved with gravel, making it difficult for wheelchair users to navigate. It's a bit of an effort to navigate in a wheelchair. Perhaps it's meant to be aesthetically pleasing, but it's very difficult for wheelchair users.nnSHL, as we call it, is very popular as a filming location. One example of Batman was filmed here. For visitors who don't bring food, there's a shop selling pizza and coffee at affordable prices for students. Sit back and enjoy pizza and coffee during lunchtime.
Great Library with nice and quiet study spaces and plenty of rooms to choose from. Historically very interesting too and the architecture is
