The library is fine. It's currently being renovated, so some areas aren't accessible. The architectural style it's modern and the decor quite essentialist and industrial, but I like it. You will be able to study without distractions upstairs. I am not sure about downstairs, as there is a piano that gets actually played sometimes. The book selection seems fine I have only been once, so I might be wrong. They have a good selection of magazines, CDs and DVDs,. However, here comes the catch: you can't just borrow DVDs for free, you have to join the library film club and pay a minimum fee of £22 per year except concessions. The money-making approach extends to putting a poster on the community board for £3.50 and so on. Borrowing media should be free in a public library as it is in many other ones. Come on Haringey council! I will upgrade my rating if take off those charges.nThe staff was friendly and excellent.nPEACE AND QUIET RATING: 3.5/5
My favourite library.nnEmployees are just lovely.nnVery cozy ,clean , quiet and tidy .nnWarm atmosphere.nnThere is an outdoor space with benches and beautiful plants , where visitors can spend the time.nnInside are plenty of bookshelves with books in alphabetical order.nnTable and chairs.nnThey offer craft for childrens for free.nnAnd there is also some toys to play with.nnJust wonderful.nnMy daughter is always extended arranged time of staying.nn:
Wifi often doesn't work - have had to leave and find an alternative workspace on multiple occasions as a result. Also unsure where those studying are meant to have lunch as there are signs throughout the whole library saying no food .... during colder months it would be useful to have an indoor space where visitors can eat.
Great facilities; electric pianos, audiobooks, computers, movies playing on projectors, sofas and surrounded by a number of books of all genres and for all ages.
I come to this library a few times per month and there is always an issue with the wifi. Cuts out a lot throughout the day. Otherwise good place to work.
