Both my kids really enjoyed the scampi and chips here and ate loads. Large portion sizes - the picture is of small cod! Served quickly. Also have Shepherd Neame beer. Not fancy but traditional mayonnaise in plastic sachets. Certainly a destination for lots of the customers.
We took a ride on th Romney Hythe and Dymchurch minature railway. We went for a short walk to experience the inn. We were not disappointed. We had the haddock and chips. I had salad, my partner peas. Delicious. Crispy golden chips. Light crispy batter on fresh tasty fish. Served on a fish shaped plate.
Nice pub in Dungeness not been for a while and came down for fish and chips. Friendly staff and good range of food and drinks. Food was good but got very pricey at £15.95 ! Plus had to eat it with flimsy wooden cutlery that you have to hunt down yourself after the food is brought out. So, nice pub, but better around nearby. Hence 3 stars.
You'll get a friendly welcome as you walk into this pub. Inside it does resemble a seaside cafe and it looks nice and bright and clean. The food is fairly priced and very generously portioned - unlike some pubs where you'd pay a similar price for a much smaller dare I say trendy? style portion served on brick or some such. This is good honest pub food at its best. It also helps that it's set in a stunning location too. We dined inside, however, there's ample seating outside. It's all very safe and well thought out.
Great pub at Dungeness !!! We stopped in for a pint at get end of the railway and outside they have 20 or so picnic tables. You go to window one and order and if you get drinks you pay a £1 deposit on the plastic cups but that’s fair and when I returned them was given the deposit back in cash with a smile. Price wise I think very reasonable so no issues there. Once ordered you collect drinks from window 2 and under no exaggeration I probably waited 90 seconds. Although we didn’t get food what was coming out for others looked fantastic and although severed in plastic baskets they all looked empty so what does that tell you? It really is a great little find and with a car park and a fair amount of capacity it is in my opinion worth a visit.
Great place. Perfect for our group requirements of wheel chair accessibility, GF and Dog friendly. Great friendly service and tasty food.
Really enjoyed a lovely fish dinner here. Much brighter inside and clean. Very welcoming staff. Generous portions. I shall remove previous unhappy review made before current owners as the improvement is tenfold.
Great for a stopover. They do serve all the pub stuff + there is ice-cream serving area. Plenty of parking as well
If you are down here Fishing. Sight seeing or just out for the day. It's a place to get a pint or two and what looked to be really nice food. It's a bit out in the stickers to be honest. It's not the best of places. A bit wind swept due to its location . Situated right on the Dungeness point. A few meters from the new light house. This type is pub makes its little money from the tourists that venture out this far. So I guess that the prices reflect the fact that money has to be made when it can. In the good weather days.. Was a nice pint and the Staff were very nice people . If you are out this way, " Its the only pub on the Vilage" enjoy.
A lovely lunch basking in the sunshine enjoying fresh fish in this very strange, somewhat desolate location. The staff were under pressure but really lovely. It looked like it had been done up not too long ago and they did a nice job. Nice clean toilets too. I'd say it looks far better than the restaurant at the little train station which has the atmosphere of a hospital canteen.
