Fantastic view of the Harbour and beach from the balcony, and the room was comfortable, if a bit run down, and the bar areas and communal areas definitely had seen better days. Breakfast was good, with a nice lady looking after you, but only managed one evening meal which was very good before the restaurant was shut in the evening due to kitchen issues electrical and remained closed each time we tried to book again. The maids were friendly, but did not always find all the other staff to be so, although to be fair, I think this was because they were spread a bit too thinly. The whole place wants some money spending on it to make it into a very nice hotel.
So so tired and very basic. Bed shelves , TV and kettle . No hairdryer, no bedside plugs, no glasses no welcome folder no breakfast information. No touristinformationleaflets and no food menu in the rooms. Just basic. The carpets are very filthy throughout the building and the hall decor is very depressing, looks like a hostel. Breakfast was OK but no fruit, never had enought yogurts. The town it self is also very run down and tatty. On the plus side the cleaning staff are miracle workers 5* ,they manage to make those rooms and bar toilets very clean. The whole place smells a little foisty. All the staff were nice but they all need to pay more attention to service of their customers.
The service and friendliness of the staff is excellent, the rooms are very comfortable and modern, location is fantastic you can't get any nearer to the harbour or the beach and the food is top class and the menu is very varied catering for all tastes. The breakfast is probably the best that I've had. We've been going for some years now and always feel very welcome by the staff and the locals and have made quite a few friends. All in all the Harbour hotel is excellent value for money and I'd give it Top Marks.
Lovely little hotel, rooms quite basic but comfortable and decently equipped. Friendly staff, hearty food, very good breakfast… there is certainly no going hungry in the mornings! Great location, minutes walk from the charming beach and harbour. Overall a very enjoyable stay, hope to be back again!
Stayed three days and had a good room, with a balcony. Compared to other times we stayed, the food had gone down in standard. Staff are friendly and helpful yet, I didn't like the bar setup. It seems to be more for local people than paying guests. I felt a bit uncomfortable going to the bar to order drinks. You feel your intruding. I saw workmen drinking from about 5pm to well after 8pm and then driving off drunk. Barman should not have served them. Swearing in guests company. I didn't pay for this.
Just visited for drinks and dinner. Bar staff very efficient and the two young ladies that looked after us at our table did all that was asked if them to deliver a very pleasant meal. Great value and freshly prepared - very enjoyable evening, thank you! Dogs welcome which was a bonus Service: 5/5
Overall, my experience reminded me of Fawlty Towers. The staff were all very friendly and wanted to help, but something was always forgotten I.e. order a drink and a meal, drink wouldn't arrive, order breakfast and a drink, breakfast didn't arrive until I asked if I'd been forgotten 30 minutes later. The rooms were clean and the shower was hot. However, the toilet seat lid wouldn't stay up and would hit me on the back whenever I sat down, the light over the sink didn't work, toilet paper wasn't restocked, the bed was very lumpy, and the walls are so thin that I could hear other guests snoring, watching TV, and everything else! On a positive note, the hotel is in a great location right by the beachfront, and if you're a heavy sleeper, you'll be fine! Wi-fi: Hit and miss if it works and has security on it blocking lots of every day sites.
Menu was varied and very tasty, we had Tiger Prawns to start & Cajun chicken in flatbread, with peppers & chili peppers. Drinks out front in the sun before dinner. Room was clean, good sized hot shower.Rooms: 3/5
Lovely location with great views and lots of outside seating. My seafood platter was all a bit beige deep fried freezer stuff and not worth £16 but drinks reasonably priced and staff friendly.
For a hotel on the Bay. It is the most disgusting, dirty, hotel I have had the pleasure of staying in. Cigarettes by the doorways. Cigarettes the whole length on the kerb. Window sill burnt with Cigarettes. Shower rusty. Shower head would not move and the smallest shower cubicle. Looks like it's never been cleaned. So many flys in the dining room.
