The Brit Pub

About

The Brit, it's not just a pub, it's a destination.

Story

The Brit Pub is a proper country pub with cosy log fires, a choice of 5 real ales as well as guinness, cider, and a selection of wines. Good home cooked food and accommodation aimed at cyclists and walkers enjoying the Afan valley. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere and somewhere to enjoy a good beer and have a good chinwag with your friends this is it. With quirky yet stylish decor and an elegant dining area. There is also a beer garden which is set against the backdrop of the beautiful Afan river.

We have been to the Brit several times and have never been disappointed. In the last year it has been taken over by new owners who have taken a good pub and made it so much better.nThe staff are fantastic and very welcoming. The different menus have something for everyone and the food is incredible! The last time we went we tried a steak sandwich from the new bar menu and it was delicious.nThey also have the best vegetarian and vegan options I’ve ever seen in a pub.nThe new owners are incredible and treat you like family on every visit.nThis is a must visit pub!!! You won’t be disappointed.
Fantastic food, lovely welcoming staff and great atmosphere. Situated right next to the river Afan too so can combine a country walk with some great food.
Called in for drinks with friends. Very nice garden and lovely to sit outside when weather good!nnUpdate 14/12/23 afternoonnnHad the festive menu today £30 and wasn't nnThe parsnip soup, was nice it was super hot but could have done with more seasoning.nThe turkey dinner was just bland, tho did have plenty of meat, the gravy was like water, only had 2 roast potatoes, no boiled which is fine had it not been for just 2 roasts. It wasnt bad enough to send back but it was just bland. Ive honestly had better at Toby.nNow the cheesecake was amazing, and well worth havingnnAlso the normal menu could do with some lunch time snack items like a panini or a wrap something for a light bite.
A lovely little pub, full of charm, character and fabulous decor! Delicious lunch and the homemade cheesecake was to die for! We'll be back!
Met some friends here for lunch. We chose it based on good reviews on trip advisor, and it didn't disappoint! Beautiful food and drink chicken in Parma ham was particularly gorgeous and they have a great choice of gins - I would recommend the pineapple. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I liked the decor and the beer garden overlooked the river which was very pretty. There is a set menu which is good value. They do play music but it didn't overshadow the conversation and added to the welcoming atmosphere. Lovely experience.
