Ploughman’s was great value the baguette wasn’t cooked though and we had to ask for it to be served but if you’re coming for the cheesy chips after seeing Michael Roux rave about them they are nothing like the ones he was served so I wouldn’t bother! The Stilton chips were also lacking in Stilton so overall quite disappointing I’ve added my picture of the ‘Stilton’ chips
Lovely pub on the river for a drink, great range of drinks and food available. Friendly service, and very dog friendly they have dog ice cream and dog meals!. Very nice in the sunshine.
Just had the most fabulous Sunday roast at the bounty. Great food, catered for all. Roaring fire, dogs welcome and our two thoroughly enjoyed the dog sausage bowls! Super value for money, all came out hot and utterly delicious. Vegan roast was also the best I’ve had. Thanks to all the friendly and attentive staff, especially mark the chef!!
The Bounty is one of those rare gems that feels both tucked away and warmly welcoming the moment you arrive. I stopped here in the middle of a long walk and could not have chosen a better place to pause and recharge. From the outside it has all the charm you would expect of a traditional riverside pub, but once you step in you realise it offers far more than atmosphere alone.nThe service is attentive without being overbearing, which makes a big difference when you simply want to sit back and enjoy a well-earned rest. What really stood out to me was the tomato juice – I can honestly say it was the most flavourful I have ever tasted in any pub. Rich, fresh, and perfectly seasoned, it is proof that even something as simple as a drink can be prepared with genuine care and quality in mind. It is easy to imagine people coming back just for that.nThe seating, both inside and outside, invites you to linger. Indoors you get the comfort of a cosy pub with characterful décor, while outdoors you have the beauty of the riverside setting, which is wonderfully calming after a stretch of walking. It strikes the ideal balance between being lively and relaxing, so you never feel rushed to move on.nPrices are fair for the quality offered, and the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the place add to the impression of professionalism. The Bounty manages to combine tradition with thoughtfulness in a way that feels effortless.nIn short, if you are in the area on a walk and looking for a perfect halfway stop, this pub is absolutely worth seeking out. Highly recommended, especially if you appreciate a superb tomato juice.
