Nice and helpful stuff. Menu is interesting and looks like restaurant menu, but it’s quite expensive. The pub and interior is wonderful. Worth to visit , definitely.
Oldest pub in England with dated proff. Lovely staff, food was excellent, and every bit of the pub looked like a museum! We loved it, there a public footpath nearby for a walk 30mins or 2h - full of birds and wildlife. We also learnt a lot from the lovely staff member available. Tried a new Scottish side dish and a fine ale! We'll be coming back for sure!
What a great pub! A friendly welcome as we walked in, and great service all round. A fantastic selection of beers from local breweries - The Chiltern Brewery, Windsor and Eton and Rebellion in Marlow. A nice touch was the beer being served in glass tankards with the pub name engraved upon. The food is also excellent - we had the bread and olives, avocado prawns and squid rings. All superb! For mains, I had the steak and kidney pudding, which was a delight. The pudding wasn't too thick or claggy, and was packed through with big chunks of meat in a lovely gravy, accompanied by smooth, buttery mash and some greens. I was tempted into the Eton Mess for dessert, which was also fantastic. Special mention to the coffee, which was excellent. Would fully recommend this for lunch, dinner or drinks. 10/10
Come here is an experience! Time travelling. The food was great the Ale fantastic. The Manager Ezio and is staff are perfect and very professional. I am strongly suggest this place. I came with all my family and I will come back more often!
Made a stop here after landing at Heathrow. Cool, old English pub with great decor and decent food. The Braun was the best thing we had. Pints of beer were also good.
An amazing pub experience! Spectacular service and the most delicious pies I have ever had! I recommend the beef pie with marrowbone and ale. Great selection of beer and wine as well.
The Royal Standard of England. What can I say? Well, it’s probably one of the coolest atmospheres I’ve ever gained in a pub setting. Literally you walk through the doors and you step back in time. The pub is fantastic as it has kept all the old features and retains that. The food was on the pricey side but, the fish and chips were to die for and the portion size was massive! I would recommend this pub to anyone, just go for the experience!
I love this historic pub! Narrow corridors lead you into rooms with irregular walls and old painted windows. The food is very good, a little but expensive but the location is unmissable! I will go back for sure.
This a stunning place that I cannot recommend enough! Your eyes won't stop wondering and savouring every little bit of history hanging on the walls. Your pallet will have a feast on traditional flavours done to perfection. And most importantly, you will be made to feel welcome by the lovely team. We will definately be back to this new favourite!
I’ve been here many times and the food and service never disappoint. My one criticism is, a few times where I’ve booked a table in advance, we’ve turned up to find they haven’t reserved the nicest table or they’ve forgotten. So your left looking around at what’s left and choosing the best of a bad bunch especially if it’s busy.
