Stopped in Ballater for a short break, walked by the Bothy and thought it looked like a good place for coffee. And it was. Well prepared coffee, friendly service, and super scones. Just what we were looking for.

Log burning stove..* home made yummy soups..  * all types of sandwiches and fillings..*.baked potatoes with toppings...* Tray bakes*. And and a variety of scones. * We will re- visit soon *

So yummy! We stopped by after a long day of mountain biking and the food was wonderful and the staff very helpful. The chef even came out to speak with us about one of her amazing homemade cakes we loved and wanted to try to make. Definitely try the parsnip and ginger cake, it was delicious!!

Potentially the best piece of cake I've had in the UK. Hard to get a seat, but worth the crowd. Great spot with a lovely view and great local walking trails.

Very accomodating in a small but cosy cafe, wood burning stove in the corner. Polite and helpful staff serviced us quickly. Lots of gluten-free options for cakes and tray bakes.
