I just love The Botanist: the staff have got just the right balance between friendly and intrusive.  Our order is always correct and timely and the food is interesting and delicious.  They even play Johnny Cash!  What more do you want?

The food was amazing! We had the lamb kebab and roast pork and we were more than satisfied, and they were decent portion sizes as well. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol I was pleased to see that they had a decent selection of mocktails to accompany their extensive list of cocktails. A little on the pricey side, buy well worth a visit if you have something to celebrate.

Tried to book for a large party of 15-20 people, was told I would receive a phone call back (never did) so re called a few days later, only to be told I would be required to put down a £3000 deposit. This felt ridiculous to me, even after the logic was explained to me, which just seem flawed, especially since it was for a Wednesday evening.

Each to their own for their own rules on bookings, however it would be good to make them known to all your staff so that potential customers aren't waiting around for days to find out such unusual and disappointing information from a manager.

Cocktails are amazing, but don't come here for food! I mentioned when booking a table for dinner that I'm coeliac and this didn't appear to be a problem. However on arrival they couldn't find an allergen menu to give me, and were more concerned with covering themselves by telling me they couldn't make recommendations. Also took half an hour for our drinks to arrive when we were one of only two tables. Poor service, and unacceptable level of allergen awareness in this day and age.

Very disappointed. Had dinner here for a celebration. Waiting staff seemed unfriendly, food was bland and my starter of calamari arrived cold. £100 for 3 adults (2 starters, 3 mains) and 2 children. Two beers included in the price. Expected better.
