Used as a stop for a circular walk. The staff were super lovely and chatty, welcoming me, 2 kids and a hot dog. The gardens are great - particularly if you have kids. Bouncy castle! Climbing frames! Enclosed spaces!! The food however was pretty bad. Sorry! Chips that had the potato fried out of existence so they were like hollow sticks with oil. Fish where the batter was solid and, seeping oil. I feel bad leaving a poor food review as the staff were so nice. We’ll come back for drinks. Skip the food. My youngest 9yo said “these chips are ok dad. I managed to eat some of them. But they are the worst chips I’ve ever had”
Delicious dirty burger has it all...loaded with bacon, Stilton, mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, gherkin, onion rings, hunk of juicy meat, freshly made slaw and fat chips. Great service and beers! This place was a wonderful find, to sit in the autumnal sun.
Great staff. Good food. The table layout is a bit crowded. This place is unnecessarily over priced.
The starters were good but don’t have ‘the Boots famous roast beef roll’ it was cold, pale and insipid and the meat was tasteless. The waitress didn't check on our meal and the experience spoiled my son’s birthday.
The Boot hosted our wedding at the end of June this year. We’ve always loved The Boot as place to eat or drink and were delighted they were able to accommodate us for our reception. From the moment we first enquired Zoe and her team were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble - and despite the ever changing guidelines for CV-19 we were always reassured that it would be the best it could be. We were given the freedom to decorate the terrace area to our taste popping up some decorations on the morning. The team set everything up for us and when we walked in we were overwhelmed with how perfect everything looked - with some great personal additions! So many of our guests commented on how good the team were, keeping drinks topped up and quick table service for other drinks! The food was fantastic and just what we wanted - again with plenty of positive comments for our guests. We looked at so many different types of venues and caterers for our big day and are both so happy that we decided to use our favourite pub! It was special to us before and even more so now! A big thank you to Zoe, Nick and the whole team!
Zoe and the team were incredible at helping me organise my 40th at the boot using their outdoor marquee. The food and service were excellent and we all had the best day. Thank you Zoe see you again soon!
Our favorite spot for Sundays, but - honestly - it's great every day. An amazing menu with a wide range of dishes that rotate, an atmosphere that's warm and welcoming and an incredible outdoor space including a football pitch for the kids. The roast chicken is a standout, but the specials are unique enough that you should make sure to check the board before ordering. Service has been truly excellent every time we've been. In particular, Imogen is phenomenal. We've had her multiple times as a server and she's prompt, thoughtful and plainly great at what she does.
Visited the Boot with my two children on a Tuesday fish and chip night. Fantastic service and lovely staff. The fish and chips was delicious and a very generous portion. We also treated ourselves to a dessert as we couldn't resist once we took a peek at the menu. I highly recommended this venue for a lovely family meal out. My son just wanted to say the decor was very cozy and warm and the food was phenomenal.
Fantastic day celebrating my sons 30th - 18 of us in total , food great and staff helpful, friendly, attentive and polite, from beginning of booking with Ima my experience here was great. Very hard to find good and plentiful food and a place that will accommodate my energetic 6 grandsons ! Well done to all the staff - will definitely be visiting again - The Gardner family
1st Dec meet up with friends who were flying out of UK for a month. Very busy bar and restaurant at lunchtime but we had a friendly welcome and asked to choose our drinks at our cosy table by the log burner. Had to be a mulled wine for me and to enable us to get in the festive spirit we all decided to order the mini Christmas lunch. So pleased we did…really delicious with all the trimmings followed by a mini mince pie and hot drink. Really good value and great friendly service. Thank you
