Went for the first time to try out this place due to a recommendation and was not disappointed. The food was lovely and the staff were helpful and friendly. Please note it gets very busy on a Sunday so a good idea to book
This hs just a great all round proper English Pub besides the Grand Union Canal. Friendly helpful staff and the lovely owners.Dog friendly. Excellent well kept real ales. Fantastic food, beautifully presented and just so tasty. Do not pass by this great pub. Thanks for our lovely meal last night and the firelighters....!
The full English Breakfast was gorgeous. Hugh amount on the plate, but really good quality ingredients and a very good price. The staff were very efficient and friendly. I highly recommend the breakfast followed by a lovely walk along the canal.
Lovely old canal pub , in a very picturesque village. Selling great food and a huge selection of drinks all at a good price . Well worth the visit
Lovely pub right beside the Canal at a quaint lock, opposite the canal museum. Fantastic thick cut chips and a pint, with very friendly staff.
Group of 8 of us two families with small children turned up without a reservation for an early lunch on a rainy Friday. They were able to accommodate us, and despite what I thought was an initially frosty reception probably because we were 8, with kids and no reservation!!, service was friendly and quick. The lady at the bar was really lovely with our kids. The food we all had was tasty, the kids loved their dessert, and it offered good value for money. I'd certainly go back if we were in the area again. Recommended!
We booked for Sunday lunch today at The Woodward Restaurant. I have eaten several times at The Boat Inn and it has always been very nice. Today, Sunday Lunch was amazing. Three of us had the Slow roast beef which just melted in your mouth. The Lamb was also excellent as was the fish. Plenty of well cooked tasty vegetables also. The starters and the desserts were all delicious too. It's very good value for money. One of the party said it was the best roast they had eaten for a long time and I will second that. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Great food in a comfortable restaurant in a lovely picturesque setting. What's not to like? We will most definitely be returning. Thankyou.
Met family who were on a canal boat holiday here. Very friendly staff. There were 8 of us and we had 3 courses and drinks. Nobody was disappointed. Food was great.
Wonderful canal side venue, in a good location, food is always presented well and to a good standard in terms of flavours and taste. Decent wine list. Attentive and happy staff. Excellent value for money when compared to other restaurants in the area. Would return if in the area.
Lovely canal side pub, we had a really good Sunday lunch, also serves teas coffee, breakfast and icecream
