Food here is really lovely. It is pub food, but more of a fancy style. The place is owned by Andrew nutter who is a well known chef in the area, so you know the quality of the place. Family loves to go here for special meals out as a treat. Can set you back a few Bob, but it's worth a visit. You can go for just drinks downstairs and it's open late then (don't go off the open hours on the Google listing)

I really want to rave about this place as the restaurant is beautiful and the staff were an absolute pleasure - but the food was so underwhelming. 3 of us shared a lamb shank, beef feather blade and a beef pudding and all of it was bland to the point of disinterest. Everything looked lovely and maybe it was an off day, but considering the presentation and the restaurant in general - we were shocked at the taste of everything; apart from the chips - which in fairness were very good. My grandad was with us and he ordered the fish and chips - I had a bite of this too and must say that was delicious. But 1/4 is unacceptable.

Really nice atmosphere and we sat next to the window so a lovely view over the hills despite the bad weather. The food was really delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back!

We feel extremely fortunate to have experienced coming here. Family members booked the table in advance, as they’ve been before and know how popular it is. We were extremely pleased with the service and the whole experience too. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and first class. Two of us had the curry Lamb rump, so tender and tasty, delicious! Another two had the steak pudding, & they were both delighted with it. Overall everything was exceptionally delicious, especially the desserts too!

Been twice and have had a great time on both occasions. 100% recommend this gastro pub!
