I’ve been meaning to try Jamaica Blue for a while now and finally got the chance the other day when popping into town with my family. There are a great range of cakes and snacks to choose from… We had cheesecake, an almond and orange cake slice as well as a brownie. They were all really tasty and filling! We also tried quite a few drinks, I had a pot of tea whilst my partner tried a chocolate flavoured ‘thickshake’ and my dad had a Berry smoothie. We all really enjoyed our drinks as well! The prices were fairly reasonable from what I could see on the menu. It wasn’t particularly busy in there, we went in there around 2-2.30pm and had plenty of seating to choose from. The staff served us quite fast as well. I would like to go again to try some of the meals that are on the menu. Definitely would recommend if you’re looking to stop for a small bite to eat. Great little place to meet up with family and friends.
Amazing customer service. Warmly greeted by Jess & informed about options for Coffee. Served promptly for Brunch after 11am. Robin ? & Jess also were serving very well as wait staff. After a tiny mistake ordering my eggs fried, I received the BEST Turkish eggs Breakfast I have EVER tried! Thrilled!!! The most perfect poached eggs arrived, despite how busy they were with Lunchtime, with no fuss at all. I had a gorgeous plate almost too pretty to eat loaded with heavenly bites of Feta, red onion, olives, tomatoes, creamy Hummus with Pita & a lovely hot Latte. I was very happily full. Compliments to the Chef : The only thing missing was the chilli oil. Cheered me up on a rainy morning. I will be back again soon! :
I’ve been coming to this place since it opened last year; I honestly love it! Staff are always friendly and whilst it is a little on the pricier side, the food is worth it. Everything is fresh, and I’ve personally never experienced any issues with wait times. My personal favourites are the blueberry pancakes ask for a little syrup, as they can sometimes put a lot on otherwise, and the butterscotch milkshake; you won’t be disappointed.
Fantastic place. My son has autism so likes calm airey places and Jamaica Blue hits the spot . Fantastic staff, beautiful food all made on site so extra yummy , clean lovley atmosphere. Recommended to anyone
Visiting first time on boxing day. Its nice clean cafe with cool and calm atmosphere. Enjoy our drinks and cakes.
The smell of the coffee is just great you would enjoy it, croissants are fresh and delicious, you would keep visiting it after tasting the coffee for sure
Could of gone to Iceland and done a better job on the fish and chips! The Turkish eggs were like some deconstructed salad with fried rather than poached eggs - it is NOT actual Turkish eggs. Also Serving ovened frozen fish and chips and charging around £9 is just plain wrong! The service was decent. The atmosphere is pleasant.
Truly, truly awful. Jamaica Blue are charging premium prices for below average, poorly prepared food, served by 'kids', who then huff and puff when you complain girl in kitchen throwing stuff around like toys out of a pram and wearing a face like a slapped a*se. Max 6 people in there, yet waited ages for 2 meals. Clearly hadn't listened to a word I said when ordering, well done bacon, runny poached eggs yet ended up with meat that could have easily been brought back to life and 'hard boiled' poached eggs. Sent it back, waited another eternity for food that was, at best, 5% better than the first attempt. Never, ever again, my local greasy spoon is better and cheaper than this.....
Got a Latte and a cinnamon swirl bun. Really nice girl on till, but was a bit off putting watching a guy with the scruffiest T-shirt and trainers handling my cinnamon bun with bare hands after watching him lick his fingers and wipe his T-shirt in the kitchen. I didn’t eat it. But the coffee was lovely made in front of me by the girl on the till.
Nothing to get excited about. Coffee is good although cakes not so good. They also use margarine and not butter even if you ask if it comes with butter? Hot food may be better.Food: 2/5
