Booked a Sunday lunch for my partner's birthday. So glad i did. The staff we super friendly and very tentative. We ordered our food and wow we werent disappointed. The Roast was amazing and plentiful. Fish and chips was fresh and delicious. The burger was so nice . Probably best burger we've had in ages. Definitely recommend a visit
Food was phenomenal, staff were friendly and helpful, atmosphere was lovely. You literally can't ask for more from a pub. If you're in the area, make sure to swing by.
Didn't enjoy at all - was ill that night and next day after very undercooked burger. Caught my drink just in time before the server dropped it on me, place was a bit loud and just very disappointing overall - the pictures look so great and the food looked great coming out of the kitchen but...didn't translate. Got 3 instead of 2 because sticky toffee pudding was good but it wasn't made in house.
We've eaten here a few times in last few years. This visit was the least satisfying lunch. We sat in what could have been a cosy bar if they lit the fire they set. We weren't in a hurry but it took a while for our order to be taken. It was a hour before starters arrived. The parsnip soup was loaded with chilli and thick and tasty. I had a pie to follow. The top was singed but well disguised with the heavy gravy. Overall OK, but as in many places they seem to be struggling for staff when we ate.
shocking service, we had to wait over an hour after our reservation time to be seated. After being seated we had to wait another 30 minutes for our order to be taken the food was faultless and impeccable as always! We then asked to see the desert menu which took 15 minutes to arrive then after 30 minutes they didn't bother to see what pudding we wanted so we went to the bar and asked for the bill. Any other time we have visited the Berkeley Arms the service and food have been top notch this time the service was sadly lacking!! The food as always was amazing! sort out the service, 3 young waiting staff wondering around not having a clue what they are doing and obviously inexperienced or hindered by the one woman taking orders!
If like us, you drive past often, take the time to go in. The menu had some Asian dishes on which we really enjoyed, as well as familiar pub classics.
On a trip here from the states, and this was one of the highlights of the entire trip. I didn’t know a soup could taste as good as their celeriac soup. The baked Brie was incredible. And the main course, the beef brisket, was a HUGE and delicious portion. This meal sent me to sleep. We were planning to go one evening, but decided to come back again the next day because it was so good. 6/5!!
Staff were friendly and attentive, food was fabulous with good sized portions, and sits in a pretty village. Would definitely come back.
Brilliant pub, friendly atmosphere, great food, top service and good beer! Perfect.. really enjoyed the visit; we were made to feel very welcome - thanks!
The staff and food was amazing. One of the best fish and chips I’ve had for a long time. Big car park and inside was very clean.
