Cosy pub with a calm atmosphere in a beautiful location. The food was extremely well made and presented, not to mention very tasty. Friendly staff who didn't hesitate to tell me about the family-run business and the history of the building.
Been here before and sat at the same table with muddy boots after walking from Borough Hill. Publican was really friendly and actually came out to offer my dog a treat which was lovely. Very friendly service and our party were all delighted with the drink they chose. They always have interesting guest beers. Highly recommended.
This is a fantastic pub in Somerby. The staff and the Landlord and his wife are really nice. They have been there 27 years. The food is really nice and it is a very old pub with beams. The location is fabulous as well.

Fantastic! Well worth the visit. I can see why it has been awarded pub of the year sosny times. Great beer, food atmosphere and staff. A proper English pub at it's best.
Good pub food in a real local pub atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Good for kids as it has a partly separate room.
We love supporting independent businesses, so when, quite by chance, we came across The Stilton Cheese, we decided to stop and try it out. The family are super-friendly, the pub has a great ambience in a lovely old building. Great food. It was busy on a Thursday lunchtime and we managed to get the last table, so book in advance!
We had a very nice meal .There is a good choice on the menu and food was delicious .Food: 5/5
